For my 16610, as long as I have the minute and second hands synched, it changes around 10 seconds after midnight.

Had never looked until up the other night when I noticed it was 5 to midnight, my new to me but 30 year old DD, not sure if the day and date moved together or close to, I was ready for some delay based on previous posts of this type.
12.00.41 seconds they both went over together like a snap of the fingers with a slight clicking sound. Have never slept so sound after that.............

Mine all change at 12 midnight to the second.
I have never seen this happen but am happy just knowing that they do. The more Rolex watches you own the more chances you have that they will change at midnight - it's a pack mentality thingo.

Went from 12:00:17 when new to 11:59:54 now, nearly 3 years later.
I am horrified, now if I wake up at 11:59:55 I will be misinformed. |

My first post actually as a newbie. Also got a bnew subc just 2 weeks old, mine changes date between 12:03 - 12:04 am. I think its just normal since it's a mechanical watch. Cheers!

My understanding is that it's just a matter of how the hands were installed on the watch. I believe a watchmaker advances the movement until the date wheel clicks ahead, then they install the hands so they're at the 12:00 position.
So don't think of it as the watch hands determining the date change, it's more like the moment that the date changes determines the position of the hands. Watchmakers - is this about right? |

About 3 minutes after midnight for my 116710LN, however I've noticed it sometimes only moves about midway between the dates then takes another 3 hours or so to complete the change. I'm guessing it's something minor to fix, just don't know whether I could be bothered to take it in to RSC just for this. I bought it a year ago.
Would I be doing damage just leaving this for a few years until service time or should I get it fixed sooner? |
