All I know is that he orders his parts from Rolex. He did not have to reshape the crystal. The watch needed lots of help inside. It had not been serviced in 40 years. It runs perfect now so considering I found the watch when I was a teenager 1973-74, I'd say the work was much overdue and well worth it.

This isn't quite the side-profile of the T39 that ABC Watchwerks does, but it is close.......

I much prefer it over the service T19 shown above on a couple watches......

That's too much, IMHO. You'd save some money if you go elsewhere, including some of the previously mentioned places on this thread. When I've had a movement service, it includes the parts they need to replace to return it to tip-top shape. They're charging extra on that estimate.

If only it was all about "you get what you pay for" and no other variables I would say that spending $1.4K to bring a vintage Submariner into complete working order was/is well worth every dime.

Unfortunately, the choices aren't that easy so listening to others experienced advice is invaluable.

Absolutely!

The more info the better. TRF is the best place to get this kind of info from true watch afficionados!

Maybe next time. I did it before I found the forum. Watch band is going to MY for restoration.
