So many great posts here, but this also really resonates with me. It changed the world as we know it.

I'd have to say Covid, ended many people's lives, and changed the lives of nearly everyone else.

I'm not sure it would be considered a world "event", but I believe the invention of the internet has had the greatest impact to the world of anything that has occurred in my lifetime.

Norman Borlaug, University of MN and the Green Revolution (DuPont) of the early 1960's leading to industrial agriculture. The world would have had huge food shortages without it. We never would have gotten to 8B people.

And more people impacted the amount of carbon currently in the atmosphere.

It's like squeezing a balloon. Solve one problem, exacerbates another.

For me it was when I was 7 years old, walked into the living room and saw my Mom was crying in front of our black and white TV

JFK just got shot

Honestly there are just soo many and all equally as important. Model T, Airplanes, refrigeration,Vaccines, Televisions and on and on. I realize these are inventions but they also had event status when they were first invented. The end and beginnings of all world wars, 9/11 plus soo many others.
