[QUOTE=5080;5452201]No. I have 3 babies... my daughters. Surrounded by women! I am in serious trouble.
I am in the same boat as you, even though they are grown with their own kids. And we have six granddaughters and three grandsons. We also have three male Golden Retrievers, all with titles, that also our our babies. |

Nah. I clean it with soap and water once a month maybe. Other than that, I just wear it. After almost two years of wearing my Explorer day in and day out, it's taken its fair share of knocks and has a buttload of scratches. Not intentionally, of course - just through the course of daily wear. In my opinion, it's futile to baby a watch. Wear it and enjoy it!

Nah, it's not my baby. It's just my watch, though a very special one to me.

I'm babying my new 116613lb sunburst but it could just be because I'm still in my honeymoon phase 😉

Have to agree Rolex is just a watch a very fine watch but just a watch its build like a tank and don't need any sort of babying. All any Rolex watch needs is regular washing in good old soap and water no need for foo foo sprays. This with regular service a Rolex will last a life time and beyond.

For me my Hulk is meant to be worn for what it is, a sports watch, so I do sports with it, swimming and all the rest, the one out of 3 that I tend to be careful with is my Patek 5712, but even so it's my daily wear in alternation with my Daytona 116515

My Rolex watches are not my babies. So no baby cribs for them.
To me, they are only things or objects to be worn and enjoyed with. |

I bought my Sub to wear as a tool - I wear it every day and love seeing little scratches develop on the glidelock and on the bracelet as it gives it character and makes it truly mine.
For my next purchase I'm looking at either a Milgauss GV or a TT DJ II for more of a dress watch, so will probably not treat it like a daily beater. |

Exposing myself to potential ridicule, I'm going against the grain to others....
My watches were all bought new and remain in their watch box 99% of the time. My latest acquisition, the Rolex Yachtmaster , now at 6 months old, still has its protective stickers in place and has had zero wrist time. If any of the others have been lucky to have wrist time, generally a day at a time, albeit a couple have been away on holiday, they are showered, gently brushed, carefully dried and polished with a jewellers glove, then placed lovingly back in their watch box. I don't wear a watch at work, when around the house, or at most other times. I enjoy the fact that I can afford these luxuries yet equally that I can enjoy them in my own time, in my own space. By the way, hi. Been lurking silently for a while enjoying your pictures and stories. My contribution: Regards, JB |

When they are new I tend to baby them (not sleeping with it on, and being super careful)
Once the scratches appear, it is treated the way a Rolex should! |

I certainly take care of my gold watches, but don't baby them, altho I do groom them and am often polishing them with my shirt, I just like interacting with them as much as possible.

If I wanted a watch to baby, I wouldn't buy a Rolex.

Treat it like my baby....no.
I wear mine doing everything. From barbecuing in -30 to working at a construction site. Daytona has seen the most abuse, although the Pelagos is waiting its turn patiently....shes next. I dont understand pampering, babying, protecting or worrying about these things. They are material items and replaceable. I treat it as such and get more enjoyment out of it that way. I mean look at that Daytona...could you imagine what its been through |
