Diving with a TT sub or YM is certainly not a problem, but you also have to ask yourself, 'am I confident that if I'm diving and for whatever reason the watch gets loose... can I watch it sink into the dark abyss?' I've also heard from guys who have dived in the Caribbean with their TT sub that they get treated different (and not in a good way) by the locals and the dive masters.

If you've got a TT sub as your main watch, it would be smart to pick up a Seiko monster to dive with, cuz at $150 a pop, it's much easier to swallow if you lose it in the deep.
Listen to the man Tyler, he know what he speaketh about!!

Very true guys very true. I do actually plan to dive in my yellow monster. I think they jewelery store I use is a rip off because I paid $244 with mine and that was with a 25% discount. Oh well I don't really care. Your probably right about the TT thing too. It's probably too flashy for me. Cause remember the TT watches that I have owned were not real gold. Which is obviously flashier. Besides, I just like the SS better.

Tyler, there is a time and place for TT watches, the time is when you are a bit older, the place is the retirement home when you are visiting JJ and Adrian.

Wrong! Rolex is the way to go. What is Jaeger LeCoultre anyway, a fancy French shampoo? I’m deliberately being thick here, but that’s how it is. And we have to get his priorities straightened out here, so first the 16610. Don’t confuse the boy, focus, gentlemen, focus. The Sub is the basis of any fine collection and an unbeatable all purpose watch. It says: “I’m willing to spend some money but I want to spend it sensible”. It says: “I’m prepared for anything, so don’t mess with me”. It says: “I’m more of a real man that meets the eye”. (Well, it doesn’t say that, but it sounds cool).

The JLC, the Panerai, the Moon Watch and all the others will come in due time. But first the 16610!

Take care,

Frans. (The one and only GoodWatch).

No Tyler, this is not true (he said in a calm but authoritative tone of voice). As soon as you have a steady income, the Sub comes into reach. I was able to buy my first ‘serious’ watch (the first edition of the Cartier Santos Dumont) the year I turned 20. And even now, with good income, I have to save about a year for a Sub or SD. Just be patient and set realistic goals. You’ll get it and the reward of putting it on your wrist is enormous!

Take care,

Frans.

I resent this remark! I have so much to give to this forum. In fact, I already have but as soon as I start another of my Nobel Prize winning threads, it is hijacked. All because I’m from that great minority, the Dutch. I have feelings too, you know. Don’t think I haven’t noticed there falls an uneasy silence to this forum as soon as I enter. But I pretend not to. Now all that remains is the bottle.

Tyler, don't listen to this man. Have you seen Austin Powers Goldmember?

Besides, when he bought that Cartier it was only listed for $45 USD. There is such a thing as inflation you know Frans.

Mmmmmm. Is this in the lines of the following?

Q. What is the thinnest book ever written?
A. 10 centuries of German humor.

Returning to the subject, there are a handful of watches on my dream list.

The Breguet Tsar.

The Breguet Marine Big Date.

The Breguet Type XXI.

The GO Senator Panorama Date.

The JLC Master Reveil.

The Chronoswiss Timemaster.

The Chronoswiss Repetition Quarts.

The Seiko Marinemaster Spring Drive Diver/GMT.

The IWC Big Pilot Watch.

The Panerai White Dial Daylight.

The Dornblueth 99.2(1).

The Breitling Aerospace Advantage.

That's about it. For now.
