Winders aren't a priority, when you have a huge collection then that comes into play!!!

I don't understand the replies that are given towards watch winders with regards to pricing? The amount of people that say that they wouldn't pay that for a winder, they are far too expensive for what they are and there are cheaper alternatives....Hell we are on a Rolex forum...you have spent thousands on your watches, and then a lot of you get annoyed when people ask why do you spend those amounts on Rolex when you can get a cheaper watch that does the same.

I have an orbita Monaco 3 and love it. I have three automatic watches which includes my fiancee watch. I am looking to add another (first Rolex ) and will have to push one down to the non winding spots in the drawer. I like to rotate which watch I wear daily and the convenience to just grab and go is very nice.

I don't know about other people, But I would take that $600 used on a winder, and I would put it towards another Rolex.

But there may be others that do not want another Rolex, or the money they spend on a winder is not that much to them, and therefore don't need to save and put it to another. You don't really know others positions. But if some one asks for advise on a winder I don't understand when there seems to be this feeling of wasting money. Especially, as I have said previously, when we are talking about Rolex, because to a lot of people buying a Rolex would be considered a waste of money.

I believe the OP is concerned with which winder to buy, and not whether to buy a winder or not.

IMO Orbitas are of excellent quality, and I have had nothing but praise for their workmanship, quality, and the company's after sales service. If you've decided to spend on a winder, do yourself a favor and check out an Orbita.

I have this one, but I don't use lithium batteries. It has been running for over a year no problems.

I have a pretty inexpensive Steinhausen four watch two head winder. It is a little noisy but gets things done just fine in the closet where it can't be heard.

I mentioned a watch winder to my non-watch enthusiast wife. And her reply was - "you've got two little kids who would be happy to give it a few swings!" She's got a point, so long as you don't mind the kids playing with your fine time pieces!

I did a search on Amazon and bought one for less than $50. It has different time settings winds both ways, and works perfectly. It is plastic instead of beautiful wood but I'd rather spend my money on watches.
