yes, understanding Rolex bracelet can be very confusing, as I understand, cost of TT solid links are more than TT hollow links.

This was a BIG selling point for me when I bought the TT GMT2C because my other TT DAYTONA is not solid.

How often do you plan on diving even 1/10th of that depth, buddy?

x2 on this big time. Even though I have one and wear it daily, I think the $7k MSRP for the GMT2C is just insane.

You guys are getting the wrong idea.

I'm wearing the watch right now and I still love it.

It's just the frustration that comes when you buy a product at the end of its model run. Imagine buying a brand new BMW 750, a car you've dreamed about for 10 years, only to have it restyled the next year.

That's the situation with the YM. Chances are it will be upgraded soon, and I assume it will have a glidelock clasp and solid links.

Granted it will probably be more expensive, or less heavily discounted, but still.

If I didn't like Rolexes I wouldn't own two, nor would I spend time on a Rolex forum!

Somebody did a calculation the other day to determine there are about 50 grams of 18k gold in a two tone Daytona (I think.) It would be interesting to know how much there is in a two tone sub or YM, or the solid links in the GMTiic.

Also: regarding the 5K for the SD...

Ironically I didnt feel ripped off at all by that watch. I don't mind paying that kind of money for a stainless rolex.

But you hope that when you buy the two tone and gold versions of the sport watches, the enormous increase in cost is largely due to the materials. Apparently that's not the case.

That's whats frustrating.

What'll be frustrating is when you realize how that extra cost buying it goes away when you sell it.

Sell one of my Rolexes? I'd only sell to fund the purchase of another.

My goal is seven. One for each day of the week. Five days to go, about 50 years to get there.
