It's shiny but with some lines going in the wrong direction. Get it professionally corrected or do not buy it.

What I've learned from this thread is that I'm totally out of my league when it comes to secondary watches. My eye is extremely untrained.

I also own a few Rolexes the shape of the case and sharpness looks perfect
Agreed the pictures are very low quality.

What makes me think its been polished/refinished is that despite nicks like those on the end link, there are no visible marks or scratches on the brushed areas.

That's just not possible.

Personally I'd take the opinion of watchmakers rather than those of random folks on a web site looking at photos.

Something to bare in mind is the majority of watches that go through a dealer will be refinished/polished to some degree.

As long as they’ve not been rounded and smoothed over it is fine - and this is nearly always older 5 and 4 digit watches.

There is dealer “touch-ups” that remove very superficial hairlines only in those particular spots from watches that were kept in great shape. These watches don’t have pock marks, dents, dings, or even deep scratches. Most of this is done without any power buffers.

Then there is a “full polish” that requires the entire watch to be buffed and reworked. They are miles apart in metal being removed.

Exactly. I see vertical striations on the case side.
Not well done. There are better examples.
