I would normally say the same thing about that YM, but with that beautiful new Red Sub he has, I can't really blame him.

Yes, very strange. I’mpuzzled man. Why would anyone want to attach a leather sole to his watch? Beats the hell out of me. Ahhhh, that stash I send you finally arrived. Don’t smoke it all at once dude!

Man, you are so funny. I have a hard time keeping up with you. Would a career as stand-up comedian be an option for you? Dang, I've sure met my match

This would have been my reply:

Excerpt from “Mating habits of Tyrannosaurus Rex”.

Male roars and grunts and bites female in the neck. Goes about it for 15 seconds, then falls sound asleep.

Roger,

It is a beautiful day here in the Toronto area, I took a nice drive to Grimsby (nice little town not too far from where I live) and had a look at some nice used Rolexes... sadly I only had my Speedmaster Professional to wear also know as the MOON WATCH
I think we should post more pics like the one above as it is important to get a females perspective on a male dominated field ;)

I'm wearing this.

I posted this pic because tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60's here. Unusual for this time of the year here. So hopefully after I get some things done here I can go for one last ride before the weather doesn't permit.

That's a beauty Bruce. Is that a moonwatch? Someone I used to work next to had a moonwatch on a SS bracelet. I liked it. It has history to it.

Yeah the Speedy Pro Moon watch. Used to have two of them, but I got tired of them and hardly ever wore 'em. That's another one I may pick up again someday. You can find them pretty cheap if you look around the used forums.

Last time I checked I think they were going for around $1000. used. That was last year.

That's about right. Depends on the year and condition. A really mint one may go for $1200 or higher if it's got an older movement. The one with the 321 movement is da bomb of Speedy collectors.

It's a very nice watch for sure, and can be dead accurate too. I know a guy at work who was in the German airforce, and wears one he bought right out of flight school in the 70's. The thing still looks new!

The Moon Watch has a long history and is pretty unique as being the watch certified by NASA for all space missions and worn by Neil Armstrong when he walked on the Moon. There are many movie references and even a nice coffee table book about it's history. The inscription on the back states:

Flight qualified by Nasa for all manned space missions
The first watch worn on the Moon

It's funny I never noticed before I bought mine that in the movie Apollo 13 the astronauts were using the Omega Speedy Pro to time their re-entry. $1000 is a good price I think they go a little higher than that, of course if you look hard enough anything is possible!

Wasn't the Rolex GMT the first, or one of the first, watches into space on the wrist of one of the Gemini astronauts? What is so interesting about the Speedy, to me, is that Omega did nothing to their stock watch for NASA. NASA bought the first one for test out of a Houston jewelers. Then I think some US companies raised hell over NASA using a Swiss product, so NASA held a competition.

Several companies worked to build a watch to NASA's specifications but they all failed. The Speedy passed every test as a stock watch. That's impressive in anyone's book

Very impressive. I believe the Hesalite crystal had alot ot do with it because if the fact that it would shatter but stay together and not break apart like plastic or sapphire.

I forget all the tests that were run, but there was temperature, pressure, etc. Jean Michael's Speedy site probably has the details. Those heselite crystals are fantastic and they polish up easily. And the watches are tough as nails. I dropped both of my Speedys, pretty hard, and it didn't phase them!

Interesting article by JM, Bruce. However, my understanding was that the Speedy wasn't compared to the Daytona, but instead to an pre-Daytona Rolex Chrono.
