Since the Panda is the Paul Newman watch I would certainly do it. But I wouldn't do it for a Daytona with a ceramic bezel.

That's a BIG Negative! Keep what you have. Never been impressed with the Daytona. A lot of REAL nice chronographs to be had.

So 5K back? In that case i would keep the SUB, add 5/7K (if possible ofcourse) and get the Daytona.
Sub + Daytona would be a nicer collection then the current 3 imo. I recently exchanged 9 watches (incl a DD, pepsi, batman and more SS) for one Patek myself. No regrets at all. |

I own a white dial daytona and would not do this trade. Sub and GMT are honestly way more functionally useful than the daytona.

I have a black 116500 that I am daily wearing and I love. But i wouldn't do that 3 for 1 trade. You have 3 complementary watches (black dial and bezel, oyster, jubilee, coloured bezel and coloured dial)

If the other person was expecting 5k from you also Shame on them and never do business with them again that is robbery. You don’t go off what you paid you go off what it is worth in a trade like that. Your trio clearly far surpassed the Daytona. They would need to give me 10k for me to even accept that trade plus a Daytona. Glad you came to your senses

That would be an easy no for me. The Daytona is gorgeous, but I would not let go of three beautiful references.

Save up for a Daytona and add one... perhaps in PM. Or, get your fix with a speedmaster.
That's an awful deal.

As many others have stated I would say thats a no go and a hell to the no on that deal
Just looking at your trio you have way more value then the offer and way more quality in your 3 versus the one. If you havent had the chance to try on a 116500 I would definitely do that even without doing this deal You just might find that the 500 isnt all that its hyped up to be. I have a Black 500, havent worn it in probably 5-6 months. Do I like it? Of course but not to the point its hyped up to be plus I like size/heft on the wrist and the 116500 isnt either If doing a 3 for one and a Daytona I'd be looking at PM but if you are having to Grey its even worse than the 116500. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Its is your decision after all

Absolutely not. In my opinion, the Pepsi is easily as nice of a watch as the Daytona.

I wouldn't do that trade for one steel watch. PM Daytona I will consider.

I would not even trade the Pepsi for the Daytona!
I consider myself lucky, but I have just never "understood" what makes the Daytona so appealing. Even when i owned one. Meh

I own the Sub/Date ,GMT ,but in WG Meteorite and the Yellow OP .
I also own the White Ceramic Daytona . There is no way I would get rid of those three of yours, for a Daytona . Dont even consider it . |

I’m a huge advocate for owning a Daytona, any Daytona! But, this is a bit too much.
The BLRO is the best watch pound for pound (looks and usefulness) that Rolex currently makes in MY opinion. I don’t see a scenario where my BLRO goes anywhere unless I’m in a dire financial situation. I’ve been waiting for a yellow OP for a family member since they were announced! It has not arrived yet. It may never arrive! My BLRO arrived much sooner I think. I’m certainly not a whale at my AD, but have managed a few pieces over the years, including two SS Daytonas. The 116500LN is certainly a unique, beautiful, and coveted piece. But in this scenario, I would advise you to come up with the money and keep the OP and BLRO. They are virtually irreplaceable through an AD. Unless of course you’re an Orca whale at your AD! In which case, this discussion would be moot. |

I wouldn't. I'd go buy a brand new Zenith el primero sport for $10k and call it a day...

Have you tried on a Daytona? You need to be 100% certain as it wears very differently than a Sub or GMT.
I would just not be comfortable trading 3 for 1, essentially a $13k watch. I know they will never be $13k or even double that price every again on the 3rd party market, but it just doesn't sit right with me. I have done 2 for 1 in the past, but that included a TT Sub and SS Daytona for a PM Daytona (when they could be had at a normal price!) |

I bet that if you were to do that trade, you'd miss your other watches as soon as the honeymoon phase with the Daytona wears off.
I considered trading my Bluesy, Rootbeer, and DJ41 blue stick dial, fluted, jubilee for my grail watch, DD40 RG Olive, but after some soul searching just couldn't imagine not having my other 3 watches. Variety is the spice of life, it's fun to rotate through them, almost feels like wearing a new watch when you wear one you haven't worn in a while again for the first time in a while. So, short answer. No.

I own a Daytona and it is not worth all three in my opinion. I actually just considered a similar situation last Friday. I have a 2020 black Daytona, 2021 Starbucks (got it last Thursday) and a 2019 Batman on jubilee. I acquired all three at retail and they are worth approximately $70k. I was offered a platinum Daytona at retail from my AD Friday. Should I sell all three for one grail? I decided not to. The reason being, I just would not feel comfortable wearing a $75k watch … I would be too paranoid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If the consideration is strictly financial then I think you are getting a raw deal on the trade. I personally would not consider a gmt Pepsi, sub and OP plus cash as anywhere near an equal exchange. However if you really want that Daytona then go for it. Enjoy the process, and have fun wearing it.

didnt the OP start a similar thread with just the pepsi and OP + cash for panda, why didnt you do that one?
Its just a math problem at this point, you can figure out the numbers yourself. |
