Try first on. If you love it, get it. If your on the fence, def pass. Regardless, it may be an extended waiting game. Remain patient so your not settling.

What are you considering? DJ, OP, ExpII or Daytona?

If Daytona, get it. If ExpII, I’d wait for white. If DJ I’d get black and if it’s the OP and you have a sizable collection, go white, otherwise go black.

All my preference... but you asked!

Hey Brian, appreciate the advice!

I went on the list for TT SkyD and TT Daytona, both black dial.

The TT Daytona White dial became available. From the pics I have seen, this is an absolutely beautiful reference, and I think my wife can pull this one off too (always helps when getting budget approval, Lol)

I currently have a 114060, so it would be very nice to add a white dial Rolex.

I'll get to try it on and have a better feel. I know Daytonas are extremely comfortable to wear, it sits right, nice and flat on the wrist.

It depends what else you have IMO.

If it’s a first or one and only, then for me, I’d always start with a black dial

Hey Brian (TBone),

It is not my first one and would not be my only for sure.

I really love my 114060, the black dial is so clean and top notch, which is what got me to love Rolex more and more, ended up getting my wife a datejust and she loves it too!!

Because of my 114060, I kinda feel I could have a white dial, and I want to try TT to have a bit of variation from full SS.

I don't foresee selling any of my watches at this point and I don't plan to go grey as for now as I don't feel experienced enough yet.

Just to add my .02, black dial on Submariner or GMT but for me, white dial on the Daytona.

I found the black dial Daytona unreadable and went with white.

Good luck

Appreciate the advice! Will keep doing my homework.

For sure! Constantly trying to make the right ones... Especially for the one's that are CAD$ 20k+ !!

I am working TT SkyD and TT Daytona at the moment. I think the keyword is being "flexible", and I don't think you can go wrong with either colour/reference.
Thanks for sharing your experience! And congrats on TT SkyD Black, it's absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing!
Strange sometimes how black and white can be so close to each other, eh?

TT SkyD is definitely something I’m considering next. I’m fairly certain the SkyD watch in general has flown under the radar as a complicated movement Rolex. I truly believe that will change soon and it might catch fire in the future...

It's a really great watch, useful functions which are very easy to set.

However, the TT Daytona is available right now... If I pull the trigger, my plan for TT SkyD will have to be pushed back... Pain....

Neither one are by no means white hot, long wait pieces, but certainly usually not immediate stock as they come in and go out pretty fast.

That is a toughie. Daytona’s even the TT versions are such iconic Rolexes. Good luck!

Just put your name down at multiple ADs for both dial variants. Whichever call comes first, buy that piece and if it’s not for you then flip it. That way when the second call comes you’ll have piece of mind plus a few thousand to offset the purchase.
