Starting to rebuild my Panerai collection. Nice counterpoint to Rolex.

I stared at a white dial GS in a Seiko boutique for about 20 mins earlier today. Beautiful!
I also want to see the new 38mm Panerai.

Whichever brand providing I like the watch. Hoping for a PP next but just bought a Hamilton plus I know my Tudor collection will definitely grow.

Did I miss a big announcement?

Rolex is going to restrict supply?

Where did you hear this??

Of all models or just some?

Why would they do this?

Too many questions...my head hurts...

*btw - if your referring to the shortage of SS sports models, that's not Rolex, that's the AD's being greedy & selling through the back door to grey dealers so the watches never actually make it into the showroom window.

There are hundreds of SS sports model Submariners, GMT's, Sea Dwellers Sky Dwellers, Daytona's for sale all BNIB full stickers etc.

Where do you think they came from?

Rolex don't supply anyone other than their official authorised dealer network... go figure.

Every single one of those watches currently for sale on grey dealer sites represents another Joe like you & me patiently waiting another month and another month and another month....forgotten on a dusty list somewhere in a back room of our local AD.

That's better, rant over.. regards!

The only watches I have left to want are: (1) an Explorer II, and (2) a JDM Seiko diver with kanji day wheel for me to beat on while surfing the North Shore. No other watches interest me at all right now.

I’ve been slimming it down. But, if I find the right Tudor or AP I’ll be buying

Still going to buy Rolex. No evidence that they are going to restrict supply anymore than they already have, aside from conjecture on the internet.

Always on the lookout for Vintage Seikos , or whatever catches my eye . I have never restricted myself to one brand of watch ,as there are some fantastic watches out there that are not made by Rolex.

Not entirely true given you can get close to 30% off at an AD if you have the relationship.

Especially the moon watch, my experience from owning many in the past, go for the NASA approved hesalite with closed back. It’s a must have and I prefer it over the DayC.

Being an owner of 2 Omega Watches already
- SM PO 2201.50 with 2500D caliber (my 1st mech. watch)
- Speedy Pro hesalite .005

I’m looking at
- NOMOS Zürich Date for dress watch
- PP Nautilus (on waiting list)
- ALS if one day I upgrade from NOMOS for dress watch

The new slim case PAMs are tempting as well as maybe a Brietling Nav 01.

I just bought this Planet Ocean last week. I really haven’t been planning on buying anything else but I like Omega and the local AD is very good to me. If you buy them right they are a great value.

That's one of the earliest best PO models ever made.I"ll show you a related watch I always wanted to own but couldn't because was saving up for a Rolex TT Sub. Can you guess the model, it's here beside your watch

It sure is not only (to me) the best PO ever made, arguably the best diver - it’s stunning!

It is the LM LE. It’s stunning and had I never owned a PO I would have had one by now. But my my PO (2201.50) is my first mechanical watch I owned and will never get rid of it. Too similar to get an LM LE now and my go to diver is my LVc so no need for another.

I have to say tho, you just got my head spinning again

This was very similar to the PO I wore as my daily for years. It was and is bulletproof - great piece.

With the exception of the SS SkyD , my Rolex collection is where I want it to be.

The watches on my radar are APs and Pateks

New Breitling just got announced 5min ago, looks very nice, known quality and very aggressive price, looks like that’s the direction I’d take. Otherwise Panerai, but they haven’t really been convincing either these last years, let’s see that Pontrue does with it
