Doesn't have to be a big group, I'll be happy just having a few drinks with Leo and Anastasios, I know everyone is busy...
And it doesn't have to be fancy, I'm just a country boy that likes nice watches. Just wanted to say Hi and have a beer or two with some fellow WIS and TRFers.

Checked on Houstons beside the Intercoastal, looks like a great place...
Someone should let Houstons know that there is info out on the net that says Houstons closed for business a few months ago (it was some dining guide site) I'll pull it up and post the link later. Would be great if you could make it Oscar And please don't misconstrue my previous comment, I'll be happy whoever shows up, BUT THE MORE THE MERRIER.

I may be able to make it but after the holiday spending spree would rather go to a somewhat reasonably priced place between Delray Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. Joes in South Beach is a bit far for me and drinks are pricey. Martinis are over 12 bucks.

Don't worry Lee, we won't pick the most expensive place and it will be in Ft. Lauderdale since we had the last GTG in Miami. PS. Martinis can never be too pricey. |

Sorry, we can't make it. Won't be back till mid-March.
But I'd recommend H2O Mediterranean Grille, 101 Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. We stumbled into it on our last trip and it was a great place for dinner - and not overly expensive.

The one who's never been to a GTG is usually the one who pays
Thanks for keeping me in mind Leo. I'll run it by Liz but I don't see a problem with us going |

We are staying at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort on Ft. Lauderdale Beach Blvd, and were told that Casablanca's was very good to excellent and their prices were reasonable. There is live music and Happy Hour is 4pm to 7pm, I suggest since it seems we are all alcoholics (more than one Mod has called us "a bunch of lushes") we take full advantage of Happy Hour.
http://www.casablancacafeonline.com/ If I get an idea of the size of the party I could reserve some tables... Or as a local perhaps you have a better idea Leo? Again, Roxanne and I are just being tourists and are open to ANY time day or night on the 29th... Thanks to all who can attend and a BIG thanks to you Leo Hope to see you there fellow WIS Maybe we should start a roster around ten days out??? Or should I just let you handle that Leo?

Place looks good John and if we're more than 10 we could possibly get a private room? By all means start a roster John, after all it's your GTG. |

I'll buy first round for all WIS TRF or TKF members (and spouse, GF etc) attending, not to exceed say $300 USD total.

Def = Definitely Prob = Probably May = Maybe Def John and Roxanne Def Leo (are you bringing your wife?) Prob Hiram and Liz Prob Pep Prob Ft LaudMike Prob Lee May Oscar [bodybump] May Anastasios [tempoking] May Nikos [greekbum] (I think most of our Greeks are out of the country right now and don't know exact return date) Please feel free to Add your name, your GF, spouse or friend and adjust or add Def, Prob or May. I hate to set limits, just had a few things get out of control before (once had over 700 show up to a semi-private Biker party when I expected 200 or less...) So, here is the scoop on the drinks: First round is on me, $15 max per drink must be a "The Rolex Forum" member or "Time Keeper Forum" member. I'll also buy the first round for the spouse, GF, friend, limited to a max of two friends per member... I don't care how many friends you bring as long as they are cool, like to have a good time and enjoy watches or at least WIS don't drive them crazy (must be cute to be in the last category) but, I'm only going to buy two of your friends a drink. If your third or fourth friend wants a drink you can buy it, they can buy it, they can join The Rolex Forum or dance on the table (must be really cute to be in the last category) If we exceed 30 TRF and TKF members the drinks may be limited to members only... (unless of course you are in last category) Anyway thanks for bearing with my details, I just didn't want a repeat where 700 show up and I only know 300 and everyone is yelling "where's my drink?" Leo, since you are the print/ad media king, could you possibly get some "Avatar" Name Badges made up beforehand when we get a final count? So tentatively we are at Casablanca's Friday January 29th, arrive as early as 4PM, hope to see you by 6:30PM as happy hour ends at 7. Dinner at 7:45 and then we'll just play it by ear. We will work any details out between now and then Hope to see you there fellow WIS

Sounds good to me except I think start at 7pm is more likely.
I have a hunch most people can't make it that early. |

Leo,
I appreciate you setting up the get together for everyone; Roxanne and I are really looking forward to meeting fellow WIS and seeing Ft Lauderdale. I hope quite a few can make it, and I don't mind buying the first round (it's kind of like ringing the bell in Alaska) it's a great way to get to meet everyone. I know the members of TRF and felow WIS will not act like ruffians, and I should not have posted like that; I apologize... And as for the dancing on the tables I hope most understood it too was in jest,* as are probably half of my posts... even the G5, sorry Ashley. *Unless of course Casablana's ratifies and condones that kind of thing

Just got off the phone with Casablanca.
There are openings on the 29th, reservations are only for parties of 12 and the private room is $5000 minimum. So lets come up with at least 12 names people and I guess we don't need a private room unless we have 35+ attending.

John,
I think it's pretty safe to say that Oscar won't be joining us. The guy is working everyday but when we had a GTG in HIS place he took the day off. |
