The impulse starts the looking and the looking leads to buying which is all triggered from the impulse!!!

Planned or impulse buy?

My new DJ II TT (Platinum dial with black/green Roman) could not have been more of an impulse buy--by my wife!

I've always loved watches and have collected a number over the years, often through trips abroad or aboard cruises.

In December, while on a southern Caribbean cruise, we were in Tortola (BVI) and walked by a Rolex AD shop. Kay said, "Let's go look." That's all I expected to do--but an hour later, walked out with this gorgeous Rolex.

While I tried on a number of models (Sub, Date-Day, Explorer and others--all Rolex,) she (and I) kept coming back to the DJ II. It was so unique and the 41mm looked and felt just right on my wrist.

All she'd say is--"You deserve it--Merry Christmas!" And it was done.

Now, that's an impulse buy! But one I'll never regret.

My explorer was planned, right down to the point where I walked in to the AD and just simply said "I'll take that one"... well sort of... Either way, I didn't even look at any others while I was there. I knew exactly what I wanted.

My recently purchased DJ was semi-spontaneous as I was keeping my eyes open for something with more presence/flashy but was not intending to purchase anything for a while. I always thought I would end up with a Sub but I snapped up the DJ while passing through. Something about it just caught me and wouldn't let go.

I'm currently avoiding AD's in general in case I see the Sub I was after originally. I think I'm over it but you never know....
