We should see the For Sale section here go mental when people start to free up cash for the new Sub

They may well be. Been at City for a year or more now. If you know the airport they are in the lounge where Bally used to be.

I don't know what the Brits did to piss Rolex off, but...

it seems the UK always has to wait years for Rolexes that are freely available elsewhere. Weird.

Nothing!!

It is simply capitalism. Rolex and Ads are controlling (Artificially) the supply so the demand will increase, thus much higher prices. This so called waiting-list will create a situation of "EXTREME DESIRE" and "DESPERATION" for the salivating SUB-C consumer. Thus, making a hero out of the AD who, by sheer luck (lol), seems to find one or "allows" the SUB-C "consumer" to buy one at FULL PRICE>!!!

Folks, this is Marketing, Sales and just plain, a clever tool to sell watches without a discount. IT WORKS and I am about to FALL into the TRAP!!!

Al

Don’t know them as always go out of Heathrow, tried all AD’s in the different terminals, got the basic brush off from all, just so difficult to get a Sub from an AD in the UK.

I would have to get a different watch another 7 people working in the same place as me all with the same watch would do my head In.

Wow! How many pages in do you need to read to get to a 10 year old post?

Haha, but those 2010 replies... "wait lists for the new sub is to build the hype"... they were right - and a decade on there the hype remains. It was real.

It turns up on Google, or from browsing through search results, and you just don't notice.

That said, I do which the forum had a notification for necrobumps. All it needs is a simple "You're replying to a threads from ten years, eight months, and seven days ago. Do you wish to proceed?" It's usually newer users, but it's an easy enough mistake for anyone who isn't paying attention when they browse off the front page.

It is clever marketing.
Imagine that people used to settle for a GMT because they couldn't get a black sub. Now both SS GMT models, and even the TT Chnr GMT is harder to get than a black sub. How times change. Someone please revive this thread in ten years.

The same is now true with some of the 116520 Daytona at the ADs that I visit.
I was offered V series black dial ss Daytonas at 2 different ADs in the past 10 days.
So it's true then about the SS Daytona being moderately easy to get.
