Read all the posts and I've gotta go with George on this one. No offense, Jason, but if you're just now learning what "100% complete" means (and yes, "tags, bezel protectors, etc." have a GREAT deal of impact on the value of a watch to a purchaser - and I am surprised and a bit incredulous that you claim not to know that) then I'd have to wonder what posts you've been reading since October of 2009.
Just my $0.02.

Since it's a known fact that many AD's will retain the green hangtag with the barcode for their own internal records upon the sale of a new watch, I feel a watch can be considered a 'complete package' without it, especially if the sellers pic did not show the green tag or clearly state the watch includes both red and green tags.
I also think it's kind of absurd to refund someone $100.00 for a missing little insignificant hangtag, but that's just me. As far as reselling a watch you just purchased for any asking price you see fit, I would have no real issues with that. Just my .02

Well since they haven't closed this thread yet I must say that I have bought many new Rolex watches from dealers. Most do keep the green tag because it has their stock number on it. So I just I have several incomplete watch sets that are now worth $100 less... Good grief!!

Just my 2 cents but to me, 100% means watch, box and papers (or card). Tags are nice but are just a notch above a bezel protector.
And one more thing....... |

Thanks for the laughs guys. If I add up all the .$02 in this thread, I may have enough for a new tag ;)

Read the following posts. I have been here since October 2009 and I too would consider a 100% complete package to include watch, box and paper work/booklets. I would have made the exact same mistake. When I bought my GMTIIc from an AD in Miami, they did not give me the green tag. So, I fail to see how that can make a "GREAT deal of impact on the value to a purchaser" ANY purchaser. Is it of great value because it is a rare piece to have since ADs do not give to you upon purchase? Are sales receipts important? Or parking validation tickets from the visit to the mall of any importance? This goes down with the bezel protector issue that Oscar had. Silly in my opinion. And if George left him positive feedback and took his 100 bucks, why post the watch for sale and trounce on the guy? Bad taste in my opinion. :. Quote:

I am lucky to be a member right here at TRF
able to learn what makes or what is.... a complete or incoplete Rolex new watch. Like my compatriot Socrates said - the older I get the more I learn. Just the other day I bought two green ceramic subs 116610LV with just the wallet and the warranty card (watch too ) and nothing else - no other accessory,.... if I knew a few days ago... what constitutes a complete Rolex new watch (?) I would have only offered $6000 instead of paying $6200 each....DARNNNN |

I picked up a watch for my wife Monday, and they kept both hangtags. If I were to sell it, I would have considered it complete without the tag.
I always list the extra gadgets if it has them, but not something I consider a part of the watch package...... |

Agreed Paul. Same situation with the last Rolex I bought from an AD. Oh well. Live and learn. Just glad to know that I wasn't the only person out there.

I bought a new Milgauss at Reeds in June and they also kept both hangtags and refused to give them to me-after the purchase was complete of course.

Must be different rules at different AD's I have bought three Rolexes from Ben Bridge and on all three occasions I got the round Rolex tag and the green tag.
