The DeepSea haters are reading those dimensions and picturing you wearing some sort of a sling to hold your arm up.

Love big Omega's, can't wait to see it on sharkproof mesh, as nice as the NATO is, if a shark bit your wrist, you'd be screwed, that's the other advantage over the DeepSea, its only shark-resistant.

It's big alright, but it's pretty light with a Nato, and since it's irregularly shaped, it's present on the wrist is not that bad. Given it's definitely not a dress watch!

Sharkproof, indeed. However, I'm not sure I'd dared to go diving with this piece... It's got a one year warranty, but still I guess I want it pressure tested before a dive... Imagine destroying it...

I am fan of the Ploprof, its a shame Omega reissued the model. The original model will always be the one to have

splendid choice and I wouldnt go head to head in a game of watch conkers

and if you dont want any nightmares do not Google "OCEAN 7 LM-7"

Outstanding watch, one of my all-time-favorite! Are all parts still original? It seems so: dial and hands seem to be tritium and not new luminova parts, and also the bezel seems to be original.

It's much better than the new Plorpof imho, and i also prefer this rather the shiny C-sub!

I think you did good! You can order the Ceramic Sub anytime, but the chances of you finding another Proplof in that condition will probably be slimmer.

Just an FYI, your hands and bezel insert are not original. They are not tritium, and appear to be newer (non tritium) lume material. It is possible that they are authentic omega replacement parts, but not original. Nothing wrong with that IMHO. If it were mine, I'd send it off to omega to service and insure that any inauthentic parts were replaced. They could probably tell you what's genuine.

I understand you concern Brian, but the watch does not glow, only after "loading it to a light"...

But you may be right, can't understand the perfectly maching patina, the tritium/lume on the hands used to be white, this is brown.

Tritium will not charge like that under the light. It would look like the markers on your dial, essentially dead. (which is to be expected by now) It's interesting that the second hand has no lume, perhaps that is original.

From my experience, it's possible to "charge" the paint part of the markers, even of the active material once was tririum. I mean, tritium doesn't glow in it self, tritium is an an activator for the paint that glowed.

Luminova is a material that glows after it has been charged by light.

Tritium made the paint glow constantly on "tritium dials and hands", but to my experience "charging" a "tritium" dial/hands up to a light vill make it glow, faintly for a short while.

They are not luminova, cause then the charge should last hours. Now it lasts minutes.

OK, I made some tests...

First I took a picture of the dial with my camera set to f2.0 3.2sec at 400iso. Why I choose this, is that it shows the dial just as it appears to my eyes in complete darkness.

The watch has been worn all day indoors with normal lightning.

Second image is of the watch, at same exposure after a 30sec "charge-up" to a lightbulb. Notice how the dial is also "glowing".

Third image is again, same exposure after letting the watch "cool down" for 5 minutes in complete darkness.
Luminova shouldn't change much in 5minutes, but here there can be seen a significant change in the glow.

I'm willing to say original.

Very interesting. Wonder if maybe the fact that the tritium in the bezel is suspended inside the plastic, the luminous material has been preserved better than most even though the tritium has lost its radioactivity.

OK, sorted.

I'm not sure if you guys can see the VERY faint glow of the seconds hand on the first and third picture? But look in roughly the same place as where the hand is on picture 2.

Tilting/putting of light on screen helps a bit too.

Wow coool watch. I sell my Omega divers, then keep going back! I sold my SHOM 200 and my SMP 300, then this week I have bought a Planet Ocean and 2 mins ago I bought an original (not watchco) Seamaster 120m, the so called Baby Ploprof, on a mesh!

Congrats, thats one of my grails!
