Another easy way is to view it from the profile...the acrylic will bend the light and look 'thick' and domed, where as the sapphire is flat.

Acrylic is more presure-ressistant than christal, however it is vulnerable to scratches. The other way I have heard to tell the difference is to drop a few drop of water to the surface. The water drop on the acrylic will scatter while on the christal surface they will remain as water ball shape. I am not sure if this is correct.
