I see nothing that can make me say it's a fake. But sometimes fakes are very realistics.

Based on your pictures it seems OK, but to avoid any doubt maybe the best way is to find a Rolex AD and ask him to open the watch and confirm (or not).

I think that's also a lesson for me in among all this -I should stick to AD and trusted sellers !
That's the good thing about TRF. You learn something everyday.. Like when someone posts a fake watch trying to pass it off as real...

As aquanaut said, why not just take it to an AD, and have them look at it. One glance will be all they need to confirm or deny authenticity. Good luck.

I guess you live on top of the AD thats why it took you only 40 min to go and the AD took the band off as will as the caseback checked and sealed back together and hopefully you stopped for a coffe in the way back to make your last post.

He didnt take the case back off because he said the warranty would void if i took it off with him. It was at a tourneau i work in NYC not uncommon for someone to walk there and get an opinion if your office is actually less than a block away. Thanks again everyone

You know what? I still say it's fake, but like Mosco suggested, I'm not helping him out any more.

I can't understand how all of you can affirm it's a fake from a single picture.

What I read is an 8 digit s/n (not V261246) , including maybe 161.48.3

I have a new ceramic sub, and going not from a single picture but all of them, I have found enough anomalies to satisfy my overall sense that this clearly is a fake. Some of the differences are actually quite noticeable once you actually center on them, so go back and review/compare. Best done with a real one in hand. You'll come to the same conclusion, and then all of the attitude and fluff of the OP will fall into place as being the crock that it is.

100% right Greg!
In fact, the previous alias of this 'user' (I'd like to politely say fakester), was rolexresearch.....How's that for coincidence?!?!?

The watch is fake, as is the poster!

God I love it!!

I'm learning some amazing lessons on this forum! I realise its a fine line between verifying the good from the dogs and essentially providing a public service, but at the same time not showing your whole hand on all the clues and tips as to how the experts here know its a fake......

I'm impressed. Not by the OP but you guys that can spot a fake so easily. I own that watch (real from AD) and the first pic looked funky but I wasn't sure. But looking at the fonts and spacing is a giveaway. However Rolex has been known to change the font and spacing on some models such as the DSSD. So you never know. I have owned at least 20 Rolex's and I like to think I can spot a fake but who knows. Glad to see the OP banned.

U know what's funny is, when he was rolexresearch and was told to take it to an AD he said he could do that, but they want $150 and needed it for a week...and was curious if that was normal...then as this guy it took him 15 min to get it authenticated....

This thread was very entertaining, especially the part where the OP was able to leave and return to his computer within 40 mins to have his watch checked for authenticity, very amusing.

Another "gift" Rolex that didn`t pass the smell test.I guess as long as there are counterfeit Rolex out there this kind of nonsense will continue.
