PS - Ordinarily I'm not a fan of two-tone watches, but I'd make an exception for that Sub-C. Gerardo, you wear it well, pencil wrist and all.
We really should work on planning a GTG there including our significant others!!!

Great pics but if im being honest here, your photo editorial sold me more on the SubC and the beautiful resort than the AP Diver.

In the two photos featuring both the SubC and AP Diver, it is the SubC that looks like the watch of choice for the discerning "gentleman adventurer" while the AP Diver looks more like a very nice limited edition G-Shock or Swatch.

Has probado la Negra Modelo?

Saludos,

Hal

PS - ROOs of any ilk can be acquired tastes, particularly on rubber, and yeah, that Sub-C looks killer.

looks good...

this is undeniably a great shot of the AP Diver, we got the AP Diver on bracelet and you are a good looking guy with "attitude" (finger and faux hawk) which perfectly accents the AP Diver's spirit (royal oak was a "rebel" watch in 1972, shocking the entire industry at basel that year) plus your use of the livestrong style black rubber band which compliments the black rubber crown and 10 oclock inner bezel crown.

In my post I said the rolex sub c looked like the "gentleman adventurer's" choice and I even used "" around gentleman adventurer.

You clearly are going for the X-games wild man look which is perfect for the AP Diver!

The AP Diver, because of its overdesigned industrial look (the octogonal bezel and industrial "bolts" are a Gshock-ish, Swatch level of overdesign) takes a lot of attitude to pull off, compared to the Rolex SubC and your photo illustrates this concept.

I think sometimes we forget just how shocking the Royal Oak was when it was first introduced all those years ago; and by no means was it a runaway success, either. Now, after having had 40 years to watch its influence spread and its legend grow, it seems like a given that it would become the icon that it is considered as today. Just something to think about.

As for the Diver, the watch definitely has some attitude, though I find it tamps down some on the bracelet, as opposed to the rubber strap, which draws more attention to its role as a true dive watch (never mind that the second crown is incredibly fiddly to use in practice). I suppose this applies to all the ROOs, though, with more outre LEs like the RBII, Survivor, Legend, Grand Prix, et al requiring even more "attitude" to pull off. Heck for one of those I'd probably have to grow the 'hawk out a foot, dye it green and go nuts with the tattoos and body piercings.

Regards,
Adam

PS - The only person who ever said I was good looking was my mother, so thank you.

PPS - So, um... What are you doing later?
