It's a well written article and he's obviously a big player in the watch game however I disagree with a lot of the stuff he said.
I'm guessing this watch cost a lot. A lot more than the 5205G silver dial which is in my opinion a much more attractive watch. It's such a beautiful well balanced piece and you can pick it up for £30k. I'm guessing this cost double mainly because it's a limited edition. Don't get me wrong if I was very wealthy and I'd be all for limited editions but I've never been a fan of Tiffany. I see nothing special in this watch. Don't get me wrong it's still special in the sense that it's a Patek but I would choose a few Pateks over this one that probably cost a lot less. Now this is just my preference but I have no need for lume on dress watches. If I wear my JLC Reverso to work, as soon as I get back I put my Sub on. I prefer a sports watch when I'm at home so that's the only thing that is gonna be on my bedside table at night. Agree on the deployant clasps and how you should get them for your watch. What I don't agree on ? Patek being praised for putting them on this limited edition when in my opinion they should be a standard on any watch you spend more than £10k on. I've actually smashed a crystal before on an old watch and since then any dress watch has to have a deployant. I don't think it's practical to have to use a clasp with one hand. |
