I've learned that $30,000 is relatively inexpensive for a watch.

I have learned that I'm not alone in my addiction to all things horological and, indeed, that there are quite a few people infected far worse than I am..... quite reassuring in a rediculously crazy sort of way......

For close to thirty years the wife, family and friends had me thinking I was crazy for not only having more than one watch but spending more than a pay check on any watch.

Since discovering TRF I've learned I'm a normal (?) WIS and in very good company.

that watch people, particularly the TRF community, are not stereotypical "watch snobs", but are some of the kindest, knowledgeable, helpful, and inspirational people around

Too much to list. I love this place. I now know more than any AD I have come across!
I always have a hope that they will offer me a job!

I've learned that everything has a serial number... end links, bracelets, clasps. Even watches.

Along the same vein, I've learned that no grail is entirely unachievable or unjustifiable.

And that the 'grail' is only a temporary designator until its obtained - so, unfortunately, its not entirely achievable or justifiable, either. Awww....who cares? A true WIS must be flexible.

That there are still a lot of friendly people . . . on this forum anyway . . .

That I lost 2 to 3 hours a day . . . . spending it now on TRF . . .

Watches . . . drive you mad . . .

I have learnt that Rolex is only a watch, as mass produced watch company.

I have learnt so much from so many TRF colleagues.

JJ, thank you and bless you. Still miss your input my friend.

Jocke, thank you

Above all, it's not to take the whole watch thing too seriously. It's just a watch forum. They're just watches.

I've learned to be a more educated buyer. I've learned to be a little more patient, rather than jumping on everything I see that I want. I've learned not everything that looks like a Rolex is a Rolex and I've learned that there is a great group of people willing to help you make a big decision about buying an expensive watch - TRF means Totally Reliable Friends ! ! !

I have learned a sh$t load. Also, TRF is loaded with some extremely knowledgeable members.

Just don't start your first post with "My grandfather left me ..."
