Besides not clear if it was a 16520 or 16523. Suppose you were a 16520 as it would then one 16523?
Anyway, in this case I disagree with my forum friends.

It is true that this would be a typical price for a TT Daytona. The OP simply said Black Daytona, so most are assuming that it is one in Stainless Steel which do fetch more on the open market..

They aren't quite that much...the last couple (which are from around 2010) sold on eBay for between £6-6.5k).

It is a black dial 116520. It is currently at the RSC on 5th ave in Manhattan. The watch is 100% authentic and I will post pics of it on Monday when I pick it up. It was a safe queen for a while and the RSC has verified the authenticity of the watch. I have the claim ticket they gave me along with the service estimate they emailed to me yesterday.

I honestly thought it was an ok deal considering the watch may need a $1000-$1300 service and because it was 11 years old. I guess I did better then I thought.

I have the same opinion, the only Dayto I saw around 8K euro was not in a good shape with scratch. For 7.5 K US dollar, I'm very curious to see this watch

116520 is still considered as the latest SS Daytona model. Again, you did it very well, enjoy the beautiful watch.

Well $7.5k plus $1.3 for service is $8.8 so nearly £6K, that's a good price for 11 yrs old but not an amazing price maybe.

It is a great deal and for me a steal as I would never bother servicing an 11 year old watch unless it was not working. So you did great and are a lucky guy! Also if you felt compelled to service it your estimate is way high as you are likely looking at $500 or so with Rikki.

I was thinking the same. The full estimate they gave me was $1100 with tax. I am picking it up Monday or Tuesday, going to wear it and send it off to Rikki later in the year if even that.

I have a Sub being serviced by the RSC now and after forum recommendations I am going the Rikki route for this peace. Thanks again for everyones comments as always and pics are coming.
