I used to be a marketing communications manager in a large corporation. Now I do the same stuff but work for myself. So much better than all that corporate crap.

Yes James, I have read all of Thomas Harris' novels, SOTL was to me the best and it came out great in the film version thanks to Sir Anthony Hopkins.

Regarding us being in the same business, yes I was military then police, then in dignitary protection with USGovt.

You may find enjoyment in reading novels by Lee Childs and Daniel Silva.

I've been called many things in 20 yrs.... stockbroker, registered representative, Investment representative, investment advisor, financial planner, and now the latest:
Financial advisor.

Basicly I help people meet their goals of retiring, saving for kids college, staying retired and not having to go back to work, but most of all I am like a psychologist to my clients when the markets get rough!

Hey... what if it was a she? I'm feeling somewhat oppressed right now.

Defining my current job is a tough one. I am a CAD/CAM/CNC programmer and engineering liaison, so to speak. I take what the engineers design and make it CNC and production friendly. I also design from scratch. Most my day is spent programming, processing NCM's, ECO's and designing new parts for a boat manufacturer. In short, I'm an AutoCAD jockey...

Remember the Rat Fink/Big Daddy Roth artwork and dolls?

Same era, just as grotesque...

Sir,
I flew AH-64's and currently fly UH-60's. They are both outstanding aircraft! I thank you for producing a high quality machine, my life depends on it.

Vaguely familiar.... that image reminds me of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics. Remember Fat Freddy's Cat?

Uh-oh. Did we just hijack?

you have no idea how proud that makes me and everybody here. i hope with all my heart they never fail you.

every time somebody gets the "it will be good enough" attitude i always remind them, if your car fails you pull over to the side of the road and call a wrecker to tow it. if our products fail people die and that isn't an option.

Big Daddy hosted a motorcycle show every year at Daytona Bike Week until he died. It was called the Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show.

His casket was pulled by a custom trike there also.

I'm a recently retired Chief Executive of a large disability charity. Before that I had a varied career. I have been a chartered engineer for thirty years - I worked as a design/development/project manager in various fields including: nuclear submarine reactor systems, aero engines, natural gas reforming plant, gas transmission plant and a variety of large construction projects. Then I moved into general managment.

Despite all that, I actually bought my 1675 GMT when I was still a university student in 1967 - and my Rolex was funded by my summer holiday job as a bus conductor/driver in Liverpool!! So, I've had my GMT right through my professional career.

In my retirement I'm currently chairman of a carer's support charity here in Northumberland.

Stan.
