Nice way to throw a damper on a totally good thread. Someone went out of their way to do something nice for someone else here on TRF. Why? Because she is a good, wonderful, kind hearted person.

I can't see anyone doing the same for you after this comment.

Going by what she has said here, Lisa is very happy with her situation.

Maybe the reason you're not married is because because no one will marry you.

So was it worth 6 hours of driving, 400 miles on the odometer, $50 in gas and having dinner at McDonald's? I thought it was, not just to save over $600 in taxes, but also to have the opportunity to meet Lisa, her husband Dave and their three lovely daughters. What really stood out to me that Lisa gave me a hug after opening the door, which was a complete surprise since I wasn't expecting that. But, that's the kind of person she is. It was cute how Lisa's oldest daughter presented me the package on a pillow while on one knee. And I thought it was funny how Dave and Lisa were more excited about the watch than I was. It was like Christmas morning for them. We spent about 2 hours just sitting and chatting and they made me feel very welcome. And I just loved how the baby crawled over to me to look at my shoes...it was adorable.

Lisa had offered to ship the Rolex overnight to me, but I looked at the opportunity of the visit as an adventure. And I am glad that I went on that adventure since it's a much better story. And I believe that my life is better for having met Lisa and her family compared to not having done so. They are really great people. So when I look back upon this, I'm not going to think about the money I saved. I'm going to think about the good memories that came out of it.

I'm working late tonight so I may not be able to post the photos. Not to mention that I didn't really take that many pictures since we were so busy talking and they had a sick child to attend too. So if you would like to Lisa, you can tell your secret and post the photos. I know you want too.
One of the better posts I have read on here.

Really touched.

Lisa you rock!!

You must be very proud of yourself, Tempo.

Note how everyone is "in tune" with your opinions?

I agree............Yikes TempoKing, way to be a self involved, narrow minded #*%# !!
Lisa's assistance is what this world needs more of: people like her that go out of their way to help others, and make this place we all live in a little nicer & friendlier.
As someone once told me, there are takers, & there are givers.
Lisa is obviously a very large Giver, enjoying her very full life taking care of her family, and finding time to help out other people she hardly knows.
If ever down on your luck one can certainly bet that Lisa will be the first one on your team helping out. Kudos to you Lisa, Keep doin' what your doin' !!

What a great thread and a nice story. It's these kind of things that make this a cool place to hang out.

Well, here's the bummer - we moved right before Christmas and now we can't find the adapter to upload the photos from the camera. Hubby is currently storming around the house fit to be tied. He thinks it's still at the other house.... woe is me. However, I can promise you the pictures I took really sucked.

Vu, are you around here tonight to at least tell everyone what you got?

Oftentimes it's a standard USB cable available from your local electronics store.
Also, (I don't know if you're equipped) my printer has a card slot in the front that allows me to simply insert the memory card from my camera and download its contents directly to my computer.
Maybe yours does too.
Just trying to help.

Appreciate your efforts, Bill. Husband explains that our camera's memory card isn't the right size to fit into the computer. He has to have the adapter with the memory card reader. That's what's missing.... boy, how dumb am I sounding, as I have zero technical know-how.

I couldn't agree more. I personally think being a good Mom and wife is the hardest, most unappreciated job in the world.
