The Corvette has better performance, and more importantly the Corvette sticks to the road in turns a 911 can't take. There are very few cars in the world that can out perform a Corvette. Many of the advancements GM put in the Corvette have been put in Ferrari. GM has done great R&D work making Corvette a great exotic sports car.

Corvettes are great cars money aside but their performance figures are more readily exploited in a track setting with smooth pavement. Hopefully the new c7 does not get skittish on your typical road the way the prior generations use to.

If porsche can make the 911 feel like a mid engine, even with its silly engine placement, gm should be able to make a vette that stays planted on your typical back road.

It's the back end that kills me. I'd still like to give one a spin before passing further judgement. Maybe the thrill would make up for the visual shortcoming, IMHO.

California, is not my taste in states, it's broke, and it is wound way to tight. However on a good note, it's good for tourism, and it takes in some good money, where the money goes, nobody knows.

Marc,

Congratulations on the new Corvette. That looks like Highway 15. Remember, every Corvette comes free with a black and white in the rear view mirror. Keep an eye open for the white CHP units.

The regular C6 Corvette does not have a gas guzzler tax and has 400 hp. When I picked my C6 at the National Corvette Museum I took a week and drove it back. Most of the highways coming back were 80 MPH, so I did 85. I averaged 27 MPH with the top down and 28 with the top up. The top was only up late at night or during a sandstorm

The C6 made more than a few other performance cars a little sad on PCH between Port Hueneme and Malibu. The wet and snowy track around South Lake Tahoe did not give it any problems. It has high performance, good handling, and you can count on it to start every time you push the start button. jmho

That sure is a beautiful car, but it's not that fun in Europe with these gas prices.

Definitely not the new C7. Looks just like my dash on my old 2000 C5 Coupe. Loved looking out the front window over the curves on the hood. Hope you got the manual transmission!

Bet you got a smoking deal Marc. We'll have to get together and compare cars.
