Well to do it I would have to flip my beloved 5712, which is for me the best daily watch and fits any occasion, in shorts or with a suit, sure I can get one later and the diver will probably become unobtainable or at a huge premium from retail since it's discontinued, but the idea of being without my 5712 which is the only nice piece I have left is just too much for me, I absolutely adore this watch, don't think there is any other watch that I will love as much as this one, don't know if any of you ever had the feeling of finding YOUR watch, but that's the feeling I have with the 5712, for me it's the watch I need, I would love to have the ceramic diver or a datograph 39mm in addition, but not instead of the 5712, let's hope AP will sooner or later make another ceramic piece and not too big, 42mm max |

Actually I heard the reason they discontinued the Ceramic Diver is because there is limited capacity to make ceramic cases as ceramic is very hard to machine, especially to finish them to the high standard requires by AP. Accordingly, production is limited. So perhaps they will focus their limited production to the 44mm Ceramic ROOs where the returns are better. |

I heard also about the difficulty to produce these cases but it's really too bad, I think the retail was about 20K more or less, they could have just raised the prices, anyways I guess the day I have the funds I will be able to find one, like another member told me even the coolest pieces get flipped by owners, so there is hope, I just wish that the money I have didn't need to go into something else, if it wasn't the case I would have already gone to an AP boutique or AD to order one |

Well after taking a look at Chrono 24 I found a ceramic ROO which is really cool, ok it's 44mm and not 42mm, but when I see pics of guys with smaller wrists than mine here and they look great on them, and since I was wearing 44mm Pams before I think I can pull it off, so when I have the funds, even if the 42mm diver is impossible to score I think I will have other possibilities that look just as cool, was more on the 42 one because of the smaller size but why not a 44?
Here's a pic, it looks really, really stunning So one way or another when I have the funds for a ceramic watch there will surely be one available 2750762_xxl.jpg |

Or this ceramic piece is also very cool, of course both are more expensive than the 42mm ceramic diver but not to a point that it would be impossible to buy
I prefer the one I posted just before but this one is nice also 2749160gross.jpg |

I just found a ceramic diver for sale in Europe, I wrote the seller, a pro seller, if he would be interested in trading for a Pam 028, a Blancpain L-Evolution alarm GMT and 4K, in the trade it's very good for them as the AP goes for 19K, and the minimum price for these 2 watches seeing in what state they are, LNIB, is 19.5K, and that's really a low price, they would basically make 4,5K, the only thing is that the AP will sell much faster than these 2 pieces, but if they're not in a hurry and prefer to make more cash they might accept it, fingers crossed, "I'll make 'em a deal they can't refuse" (the Godfather)

Are you sure it's the 42mm diver? There are 44mm ROO's in white ceramic as far as I know, if it wasn't discontinued why would they take it off their website? This plus the fact that some members asked their AP Ad or boutique if it was discontinued and they said yes it was

The discontinue of the ceramics and carbon is just a marketing strategy to sell the 2 new entries. Is nothing related to the process of how difficult they make the cases since there is available for sale now in the Milan boutique at 23700€ and 3 weeks ago was 23200€ so on the new price list they increased the price with 500€. I mean after all you buy a ceramic or carbon watch at a very high price 20000€ - 23700€, I agree that the finishing is amazing, but is not about that the discontinue, I mean I hope you all realize that they make alot of money after selling one piece of ceramic or carbon, I am pretty sure is something else.

Wasn't the black C Diver only ever meant to
be a limited production run of around 350 pieces. I am sure that was the word from the Ginza Boutique ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This also assumes that the serials were produced incrementally (i.e. - starting from "001" and/or not skipping any #s in-between). I suppose we have no reason to believe they didn't start at "001" and that they incremented one # at a time.. but as with most watch manufacturers, maybe aside from Panerai's numbering system, this process is a bit opaque, or speculative, at best
