yup, it's either wear it or leave it in the locker. But since I am wearing it, I use it to time my rest periods.

Sweat is the least of the concerns.....be worried about the knurled metal bars and weights!

I don't even wear my G-Shock to the gym. I've tried, but it gets in the way while doing push ups. Also watches are at risk of get smashed by a kettlebell while doing snatches.

Timex Ironman to time rest intervals. Anything that would bother me if it were damaged stays home.

I Run rather than go to the gym, but i couldn't think of anything worse than a big heavy watch jangling around when running. I used to wear a £15.00 timex stopwatch, but i don't even bother with that now - a sign of old age and slower pace. I now run to keep fit and keep the weight off, times are not so important.
It is lovely after exercise and a shower to put the Rolex on. |

This reminds me of when I was in college some years back. While at the gym I noticed a young lady pedaling away on the exerbike. She had a fresh and thick makeup job and multiple sets of big hoop earrings. She looked rather silly as I remember.
Maybe leave it in a safe place. Allectus |

I always wear my Explorer 39mm to & into the gym for two reasons:-
1) The locker room has a tiled floor and to keep taking it off & on my wrist increases the chance of a drop. 2) I am a regular visitor to the gym and other people have been targeted and their lockers broken into. Why should I not wear my watch? Hell! It's an Explorer to be worn in all conditions! Sweat that's nothing! It's not a watch with fancy diamonds or rotating bezel to get messed up! It's a practical watch! PS I must admit I reluctantly, do not wear my Explorer in the steam room or sauna, due to the sudden extreme environmental conditions, but do I keep it on when I shower. I used to sleep with it on, but I find that I can reduce the 2 sec/day increase in time to 1 sec by leaving overnight, crown down. I much like the 1 sec/day! |

Truer words never posted! When I am at the gym, I am working hard, and the last thing I want to do is worry about my watch. I don't even put it in the locker, it stays at home, or if I have to bring it it goes into a special safe deposit box at the gym. I live in a certain part of AZ which has more than its share of poseurs (Scottsdale), so I know what you're talking about.....

Keep mine in the gym bag while I work out.
I would end up smashing my Sub with all the kettle bell stuff I do. |

The gym is for people who want to be the best at exercising. I play real sports!
That a line from Kenny Powers..... I LMAO overtime I see that. On a serious note: I leave my BLNR in the car when at the gym and I slap it back on once I leave. In the I have worn at the gym years ago, but got too many little scuffs and scratches. Hence, no more. |

If people are worried about leaving their watch in the locker, this is what I would do. I've left my watches in my car before.

![]() I'm not a collector. I don't wear anything flashy. My Sub Date is a sports watch, and I wear it whenever I need to tell the time, whether it be running, doing pushups, riding a bike, etc. Granted, if my gym had lots of easily readable clocks, I probably wouldn't wear any watch. Of course, I wear my Sub pretty snug above the wrist bone, like any sports watch, so it isn't a hinderance at all. As for the sex thing, well, heck yeah! Hopefully my wife doesn't decide to use the timing bezel... ![]() ![]() |

Do you wear your Rolex to the gym?
YES!
![]() I have a Rolex on my wrist almost all the time. I wear my watches because I like them, not to "show off"

I almost always wear a Rolex to the gym; it stays locked in my locker while I swim my mile. I really don't see an issue.

So,when I put on my 45 pound weight vest and do 30 minutes on a rolling stair climber followed by 10 on the Jacobs ladder then the rowing machine and my pulse is steady at about 160 and I'm soaked in sweat , I'm dogging it?
I spent 4 hours working at a ripping house fire the other night with my Explorer II on my wrist, rehab took my pulse at my first break 145 that seemed like work too. |

Oh and tomorrow is deadlift day I'll be wearing it then too . Deads, power cleans, farmers walk, then a few minutes of sledge hammer work and tire flipping. Just a non training poser I guess. |
