save your money

Seiko skx007 ($170 new) and add a "super oyster" aftermarket ($50).

One more option if you don't mind quartz. Paul Scurfield, a saturation diver created his own micro brand, Scurfa. He wanted to create a affordable tool that worked. Check them out. For ~200$ you get a decent watch with a cool story.

Orient has a very nice line of divers watches, I picked up a Blue Ray when my Sub went in for repairs, Japanese made, in house automatic movement, can pick one up for $150

I would get any Seiko diver and get a bracelet from Watchadoo (e bay company).

Here is the one I got for my Spork, it was superb quality. I gave that watch and bracelet away as a present.

Take a look at helson shark divers. Available in 40mm 42mm and 45mm in a bunch of colors. The bracelet is entirely solid steel with end links and is very substantial and sturdy. Almost too heavy! They are around $600 and come with an additional rubber strap. Good value for the money IMO.

This is my blue 42mm on a 7" wrist. Lug to lug length 51.5mm and 14.5mm thick.

+1 for the Helson Sharkdivers. You can get them in a wide variety of colors, SS/Ti/bronze cases, a variety of diameters, and choice of ETA or Miyota movements.

Seiko SKX on rubber, then throw away that strap and order a Strapcode Oyster, Jubilee, Anvil, etc

Or Seiko Monster. Great stock bracelet.

There is an enormous amount of fun to be had with dive watches whether you want to spend $200 or $20,000.

Deep Blue 1000 meters and Helium safe dive watch. Comes on sale for $99 once in a while! If nothing else.. Seiko SKX series is no brainer!

I don't like the wanna be sub look alikes, it all depends on price but I have a nice tag divers, that don't try to be anything but it's self and for a bit more breitling superocean is a crisp watch with it own identity. Imo
