Please do not mess with perfection! The glossy bezel looks great IMHO.

If you want a matte bezel, Pelagos is your best bet!

The ceramic should be impervious to chemical attack. The new insert is more similar to a coffee mug than it is to the old painted aluminum inserts.

You'd likely want to diamond lap it the way you would glass. You'd need to experiment to find the right micron grade for the look you want.

If it were me, I'd buy a replacement insert to experiment on, then have a watchmaker remove the original once I knew how to do it.
