Ok, here what you do next time,ok....

Take off your watch.
Take off one of your socks.
Place the watch inside the sock.
Hit that dude with that, square in the temple.
Call security.
Call your lawyer.
Have a drink.

Once he was laying on the floor for grabbing me by surprise I would have told him that I was sorry and am just trying to keep up with him and his PP collection. And then helped him up and out of my office.

I wouldn't appreciate someone sneaking up on me and grabbing me. I can assure you if it were me, he wouldn't dare do it again.

You don't work with him, don't like him and he grabs your arm. Why in the world would you let him into you office? I would make it very clear he is never welcome.

Sounds like you're allowing him to bully you. And he knows how to get in your head. Perhaps grow a pair?

I do like the watch inside the sock option though. My 2 cents.

This is more along the lines of my thoughts. I'm not suggesting violence in any shape or form (Chris: I'm NOT implying that you are suggesting violence here either ) but I would make darn sure that he knew by grabbing me he'd crossed the line. That's out of order.

I totally understand about everyone knows each other in the small city, I was raised in a small city in Malaysia and 90% of the business owners know each other.

lol, it's better to be less bling in Malaysia, my dad used to tell me that Malaysian got their wrists cut off for wearing gold Rolex in Malaysia. So I never got him one.

Your watch can buy a couple brand new Protons cars there. LOL

In the business world and as a owner to your company, its really not a good idea to offend somebody or harm somebody.

Words get around fast and damage your reputation. Sometimes for people like him, its just you have to put up to it and ignore him. No choice.

Its really sad how you mention a watch can buy few proton cars. The goverment slam a 300% tax to imported cars and force the majority of the malaysian to buy the national s**t car. lol

A Toyota Landcruiser brand new latest model costs you almost usd150,000.00

Lol

I can see that argument but does his offending you hurt his reputation? Imo life is too short to deal with people like that in business or personal life. Putting up with those things is a choice one makes.

If he has such a bad reputation, in such a small town, where everyone knows everyone, surely then, nothing you do or say to him can harm your reputation.

Curious why you would be doing business with him in the first place.

A few things just don't appear to add up here.

often found the people who grab someones wrist are the same people who would get touchy and punch someone in the face if they did the same to them

edit: no offense just read the replies, theres a lot of internet hard men here (at least i HOPE you are just acting hard on the internet and are not a thug in real life!), never realised so many people were this aggressive, especially rolex owners

If you guys came across this kind of situation, what you guys would do?

I understand your desire to fly under the radar in that working environment.
A couple of points:
It sounds as though your business, whatever it is, is successful. Congratulations.
It seems as though that guy is measuring his competition. - either social or business. His visit was indeed spying and he was sizing you up. He may be asserting dominance by handling you but he's either impressed or threatened. He wouldn't have bothered you otherwise. Be assured he's watching.
I doubt he believed your lie about it being fake. He's heard of your success and recognized the watch. He may not know everything but he knows something.
If he's really as in debt to the wrong people as you say be mindful. Snakes like that never go down alone.
For your own well being take an interest in him and what he's doing. Never turn your back on him and know something of his affairs. He's obviously watching yours.
A wise man one said "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".
Again, congratulations. It's a stunning watch.

In a situation like that, I would just say "I've seen your collection, I'm just trying to catch up to you."

You'll look like the bigger man, and there really isn't anything he can come back with.

Since he is your competitor, you should go to his office more often, don't wait for him to come to you.

Does Singapore has high taxes on import cars?
