Well thanks for the sarcastic contribution. The last time I needed a mechanical watch at all was......never!! ;-)

Anyway, I know Patek makes some great chronographs on dress watches, but I think they make more sense on a sports watch.
The moon phase is more of a decorative complication and not as obtrusive in my humble opinion. And the way it is done on 5575 is just amazing!

Sorry I offended you but you did answer your own question! Do we really need 20 complications in the Geand Chime? No! Do we need watches? No! Do we need a moonphase? No! Is a minute repeater relevant? No! Is there any relevance putting a Chrono on a world time or a moon phase on a Chrono? No!! However it's done because they can!

The beauty is the horological complexity of the mechanical movements, all cogs and wheels having a role to play and hundreds of pieces reliant on each other...
Turn over a Lange Chrono and I am continually in wonderment! Now that is my humble opinion and why I wear a watch rather than shout "hey Siri, what's the time?"
