Only be shure you can live with AP accuracy who are not near Rolex!

Totally agree...used to have 3 AP's and now none. They are great but having had the ROO (Alinghi) Jumbo and RO PC I would go with the Jumbo if you are going AP but ultimately I always come back to the crown.

Don't do it. Especially not for an Offshore! For a 15202st or blue dial 15400st I would consider it!

a 500 and BLNR makes a formidable 2 watch collection...not sure I would rather have the ROO unless you absolutely love it to death.

You have to go and do what float's your boat. For me, I traded the 500LN towards a 15300 blue.

For me personally, if there is no need to "cash out" on the CE Daytona to fund the ROO, then I'd rather own a ROO + CE Daytona. You would have an ultra sporty watch in the Grey Themes to go with the elegant and versatile Daytona. The Batman is a nice piece but the CE Daytona just feels more special.

Go for the AP, the price of the daytona will continue to drop so if you need it back you could come out ok!

I went the opposite way. Had AP ROO Navy, let it go and now waiting for 116500 white dial. AP ROO is not comfortable watch to wear compare to Rolex and you will loose more if you flip AP ROO some day. Good luck with your decision.

Tough one. The new ROOs are nice. That particular combination will go with everything however is large for business casual/formal settings.

If your lifestyle is casual than absolutely go for the ROO. If it is in the office I would give this a bit more of a consideration.

It's tough one... only "you" can decide... as for me I'm sticking with these for a while... but there's always other "shiny things" that catch my eye... good luck with your decision.

Have you tried the ROO on? I owned it but found it too bulky.

Here's a pic anyway as it hasnt been posted yet:

Flipping a DaytonaC for an AP ROO?

Well they say the worst type of vice is advice. So it's hard for me to give any advice as I'm not in your position.

Here's what I can say is that you better really make sure that you love the size of the ROO. Although 44 mm is not huge the watch itself is large and chunky. And the horn back straps take a while to really break in and fit your wrist shape. Unless you have a really flat and wide wrist the watch can appear large and might bug you.

A few years back I almost put a panda into my rotation. But after going to the store and trying one on I was totally thrown off by how thick the watch was and how the horn back made the watch look too big for my wrist.

For the most part I have an average size wrist. With a circumference of 7 inches. But my wrist is more round than flat. This caused lug over hang. Ultimately it was too big for me.

But as another saying goes. The heart wants what the heart wants. And if that's the case you already know the answer.

Either way no matter what you end up with they're both very nice watches. So it seems like a problem most would want to have.

visit an AD to try the ROO. be sure to also try the regular RO chrono if you can. the ro chrono may suit your wrist bettter, may not find it too bulky. Only flip the daytona if you are content with parting with it

I would not do it. I am not a fan of AP and I think the new Daytona-C is a great watch.

I wouldn't do it. That will be a flip you'd regret. The Daytona is a watch that you could be buried in.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in. I think I'm going to hold off for the time being and just enjoy my Daytona. Unless of course something amazing comes out of Basel, or maybe the BLNR price gets reduced by 10-15%, in which case its game on.

They're way different and totally worth having both. Like having them both but for me BLNR is preferred over 116500 any day.

For the ROO, no way! It's horrible. For the RO, that's classy, clean design as opposed to Daytona, but not with in house movement and might sit larger on the wrist than you would like to.
