Kinda agree. May be fine for casual but nothing beats blnr for all round smart dress/sporty. It "wears" big for 40mil and is $3k less. Go blnr and save for the sd43.

BLNR or SD43?

Take the sd43 , sell it if it does not suit you , keep if it does ( dont take stickers off !) If not then buy blnr and hey presto you'll get a heavily discounted watch that suits, assuming you have sold sd43 for profit .

If you feel 40 mm is small on you I think you already answered your own question - SD43 all the way!

Currently having the DSSD and BLNR in rotation I can tell you that both have different feels, looks, attitude etc. The BLNR is definitely a very nice and classy looking piece that can be easily dressed up down dependent on the situation. The DSSD, while not impossible to dress up is slightly more challenging to do so. NOW I haven't tried on the SD43 so I can't specifically discuss the pros/cons of that model for everyday BUT I would say that overall the BLNR is really hard to pass on. Plus you would be paying top dollar for the Sea Dweller at present. I'd get the BLNR wear it for a while and if you still have an itch for a diver flip the BLNR at minimal loss toward the SD once the hype as settled. As always YMMV.

If you need the GMT function, BLNR. If not, the SD.

Or, you can do the more expensive choice, so that if you don't feel good about it later, you can always flip for the less expensive watch without any more cash out of pocket.

I think between the 2 the BLNR is far more versatile and has a more useful complication for normal folks.....people don't usually need that sort of water resistance and the multiple time zone can be utilized far more. I also tend to think the BLNR is still the best looking steel Rolex they make in the modern age/6 digit.

But if you have big wrists and the BLNR looks too small for you, I could see the argument for the SD43 as the decision.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm not keen to buy and then flip after a few months as I wouldn't want to sour my relationship with my AD. I'm also in the queue quite high up for a SS Daytona. I think I will go with my gut instinct of the BLNR. Hope to post some pictures at the end of this month.
Cheers

BLNR or SD43?

In a suit go with the GMT. But I like the SD43 better. Personally not a huge fan of the blue. I like the all black GMT better and it's a lot cheaper.

While I do love the new SD43, I think I'm more of a GMT2 guy. I do love the relatively low profile of the GMT2 so that would be my choice. Oh, don't get me wrong - I definitely WANT a new SD43. The BLNR is not my ideal color combo but it's still awfully nice.

If your wrist is over 7.5 inches I'd go for the SD43, looks well balanced too. Try one on, previews are coming this month in UK, ring your local ADs.

BLNR or SD43?

I'd go BLNR. If you travel, the GMT is a great feature to have. The ability to change the hour hand without having to moving the minute hand and stop the second hand is really nice.

It is a practical daily wear watch and also saves you some cash over getting the SD43. I love my BLNR and tend to wear it over my Daytona C, Daytona SS, DSSD D blue, Panerai, LV, YM2.

The SD43 just seems to have a small face relative to the size of the watch. For me the BLNR has better face to watch size proportions.

May still end up with an SD43 someday. Will see.
