Box is a poor quality fake. It is pretty obvious. Card and booklets look like fugazi also.

I ended up returning it with no problems. I was depressed for a bit, but then this came in after spending weeks stuck in customs.

The watch from 2016 should have come with a green chronometer plastic tag. The fact that someone actually put a wrong tag (red) on this watch would be the first sign to stay away. Obviously, they either do not know what they are doing or are trying to pass a watch for something it is not. Either way, you made a good choice.

Congrats on the 3572.50. Wish they still made the Speedy with Hesalite/Sapphire combo. That was the best.

My guess is the watch came from the 'grey' market. For example, the local jeweler that purchased a new DJ for me had a warranty card that was from a jeweler in Israel. In your case the dealer may not have put on his name on the warranty card. I think you are probably OK. FYI dealers all over the world sell their extra Rolex watches into the grey market. They make a small margin and keep their volume up with Rolex. They keep the most popular brands in their store and make a nice margin. Rolex probably has a volume rebate at the end of the year for these dealers.

In fact I called Rolex in Beverly Hills and discussed with them. They said no problem getting warranty regardless of where the watch came from.

As long as the watch came with all the attachments and the serial number matches the watch you are probably OK. If you are worried about it go to a licensed watch appraiser and pay the $65 to have a formal appraisal. For the expense I received a cool looking laminated appraisal form and some peace of mind.

This was indeed my understanding.
