I can't wear a crown on my head so I wear it on my wrist...

But seriously, the timeless designs and built quality are the reasons

Reviews of Rolex movements are typically far from flattering. Very pedestrian from a design and finish standpoint. Overpriced and overhyped is the common criticism. Fortunately, that has not affected resale value. And personally, it has remained the most reliable of all my watches.

Yes. For me one of the attractions for other brands is a see through caseback and seeing a beautiful movement. But then I find they can no way keep time like a Rolex! People say Rolex are overpriced but when you factor in everything, compared to the "higher brands" they are very reasonably priced.

History, durability, value retention, aesthetics. Always loved the look of Submariners and they are built like tanks.

Fell in love with the Submariner 33 years ago. I did not care it was a Rolex, I just loved the design. After learning what it was and how much it cost I put off purchasing for 30 years. It was worth the wait as I believe it to be the perfect watch for me after 30+ years of buying everything but.

Simplicity, perfection and quality

Simplicity and perfection. The Datejust dial got me hooked many years back. Our family doctor wore his golden Day-Date and ever since I was hooked on the traditional DJ aesthetics. Nothing is superfluous, nothing missing, just right, the quintessential watch in my eyes.
And of course Rolex are extremely well (if not over-) engineered, but their watches have stood the test of time may times over. They are true work-horses. My own DJ works perfectly despite its age (20yo).
