I have more than I really need but I do wear them all. Some more than others though. I have sold a few to make room if I am not wearing often. However, some I have sold I latter regret so I try not to sell unless I am really sure. So I guess I have a watch collection.

Neiter. I just keep probing my wife patience by spending money on timepieces.

I am new to the watch collection world but find it difficult to maintain a small collection when there are so many beautiful watches to choose from!

How do you guys manage the temptation to add new pieces to your collection when you see something you really want?

I am a watch collector.
My definition (you don't have to agree) is that you need to have at least 20 watches and still be actively looking for watches to be a "collector" or have a "collection".

I really have too many watches to wear.
I am a vintage collector. I view the hobby as hunting. I get up early, travel 100's of miles to shows an auctions, pretty much every week.

The watches themselves are the equivalent, to me, as a mounted trophy is to a hunter. I look at the watch, and I see the story of the hunt, and the excitement of getting the big score. My first watch, a Pie-pan Omega Constellation for $2, a Hamilton Spur for $100, or several Rolexes for $30, and so on. And before the internet was readily available, it was really all about your own personal knowledge.

I do not buy watches on the internet, and although I do enjoy looking at new watches at a Jewelry store or AD, I have only bought one new watch for myself in 30 years.

I really cannot wrap my head around being excited because you went into an AD and bought a watch that is still in production, even if there is a waiting list. Or worse, paid a grey market dealer over retail for a new watch.

I would be categorized as having a collection. I buy what I like and sell what I don't wear.

If I had the watch in your avatar, I'd wear it and give mine to the poor.

If I had three wrists I'd wear three. Sadly, I can only wear two, unless someone makes a neckchain watch that looks good enough, and then I'll wear that in place of my gold chains.
