This thread is brought to you by the same guy who "paid" 17.5k for the Hulk at Sotheby's.

Also, looking at his previous post he only owns one watch, a Sub bought mid last year. Can’t see how someone in that situation would get offered a SS Skydweller and SS Daytona in quick succession.

But I guesss stranger things have happened.

You were offered the two most difficult Rolexes to acquire at an AD, which suggests that you have a substantial buying history with your AD. But you can't afford both the Daytona and the Sky-Dweller?

D@mn, I once sold a watch at a loss. I should have asked the maker to make up the difference.

And make sure the AD name on the warranty card is large and visible in the sale listing.

I have bought a ring for my now wife and it was quite expensive. I was on a list for both of them but my salesperson told me a 4 year wait for the Daytona. I didn't have enough money for the Daytona so I sold my sky.

Strange and unbelievable in my own humble opinion. Return the profit, really.

I could understand them saying we aint selling you jack, not we will sell you a Daytona but after that your cut off.

My old Mam used to say if it smells of fish and tastes of fish, then its most likely Fish(y)

In all seriousness when I got my Daytona my AD told me Rolex is really going after ADs who sell watches to flippers. He told me that Rolex bought a watch off ebay, and then dumped the AD who originally sold it.

It seems odd that they want to combat this grey market epidemic but don't want to make the watches more available so people don't need to use the grey market to acquire them.

This would be a different thread is the OP had a 1000 post history, but at 4 it does leave one wondering if Rolex has taken a page out of the GRUs books and assigned a few young folks to trolling the internet or at least this forum.

OP, understand we want to believe you but getting a blue SD and a Daytona would take a normal person with an excellent AD relationship around 20-25 years at today's supply/demand profile. So I am afraid you aren't going to get much love on your post.

Same thing happened to me as well. Ultimately I offered to share 25% of the profits. I now can get any watch I want within 72 hours.

Yesterday my ad calls me saying Rolex contacted them about me flipping the watch and they are pissed. They want me to return the watch or the profit I made from it. The dealer said after the Daytona watch I can't buy any Rolexes from them and Rolex has put that dealer on a list.
They want the profit from the sale??? Who are these clowns?!

I'd tell them if they really want the watch back they can take me to court. Let's see how the Rolex police fare there...

Would love to see that on paper. Im sure a lot of us here would.

My AD did tell me as well that Rolex does track numbers and see where it was sold from but the rest of it is laughable.

Fair point. The basic premise of the OP's story isn't the problem. The devil is in the details, which look increasingly absurd the more one considers them.

Which watch is yours, of the Skydweller's sold on eBay?

All of the blue dials appear to be sold by two jewelers, not individuals.

This is probably a stretch. While the AD and Rolex might have learned of the quick resale, they would never demand the watch back because it was sold. LOL There is no way to know the profit and it would be frankly very shady to demand money from your legal sale. The AD can sell to whom they want as has always been the case and if they dislike flippers they will not sell further to them. That is pretty much about it. You would have better off the sell to a trusted reseller (in this crazy watch market) rather than putting your personal contact information all over the internet where you were vying to buy a Daytona as MSRP from the same AD.

This scenario doesn’t seem legit, especially the bit about still being able to buy a Daytona.
