I agree with the others, i wouldn't trade a 11 which is the classic and 12, the one i find is my favorite nautilus variant for a 5740 which imo is not something amazing or unique enough to trade those 2 nauti's for. The 5740 PC is nice but only as a addition to the others in a collection

No way. The 11/12 are so good. I would rather have them both.

Anything above the 11/12 in my mind is just derivative product extensions of the original/best.

Edit. Remember before the 11/12 got hyped up, none of the other derivatives was broadly sought after. Ask urself if the 5740 was selling for below msrp or at. Would you/,can you keep the watch.

Nooo, I am with the Ninja on this one.The 11and the 12 are tooo special to trade.I wanted a 5740 but have relented (although I am still on a list for it & 5712) Me thinks the 12 would be every bit as fun as the 40. My white SS 11 though scarred and scratched is still the one that gets most wrist time. Imo you would be sorry if you do this trade but on the other hand it is exciting to have the ultimate - wahhhh , maybe try to find another way to get 5740. Such a delemma! Still vote no on trade .regards , :-) james in San Antonio Tk

For me it would depend...if I wasn’t wearing one of the two with any regularity AND, and only if, I loved the dial layout better....then yes, I have no problem with doing that trade 2/1 to get to PM/grand comp. Those would have to be my own personal choices/terms...YMMV
But...I really like the dial on the 12 a bit better than the 40. Tough choice

Thanks everyone. Yes the comments here basically summarize the debate in my head. I can’t do both, and if I trade 11 and 12 I’m never getting them back. I do wear them a fair amount (11 less just bc it keeps shyrocketing in value and I’m more concerned about scratching it now) but the grand complication would become my nearly all day everyday watch. That said, I’m so on the fence. Will hold off for now but appreciate the feedback.

Yea, I would think long and hard about this situation. I tried on the 5740 and it is quite nice. I think the 5711 and 5712 duo is better. One thing that slightly bothers me is the size of the font and the cramped subdials of the 5740.

Nope. Trade the 5711/1a for the 5711/1r and you will have the two best (non platinum) Nautilus out there.

Having recently acquired the 40, and being a long term owner of the 11 and 12, I would not do it.

I love the 40 as an addition to my Nautilus collection, but I could never part with in particular the 12. I love the asymmetrical dial.

Probably could sell it and get another set of 11 and 12 lol

I reversed the suggestions. Lol

The nautilus is more comfortable in SS rather than WG, but I would do this trade. They're all trophies in some respect, so why not get the best example you can gets your hands on. Then wear your new 5740 into a different PP AD, convince them you're a new VIP and buy yourself a fresh 5711 at retail.

Trade the 5712 for its big brother 5740. That would be a direct upgrade. Keep the 5711.

Winner.

Love this idea. 5711R + 5712A = homerun

I'd likely keep the 11, sell the 12, and put the proceeds towards a 5740 from the AD if and when the call cometh.
