I was thinking $30k, but I have no idea. Any more than that I would reconsider.

20% off seems reasonable. I paid more more.

Absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing the pic. I didn’t think I was a YG guy until I tried this one on! The baguettes really pop on the black dial and the black YG combo is a home run. I am torn between the RG and YG.

I am really surprised at the hard line they are taking. I thought the state of Hawaii is hurting really bad financially with it being in a virtual shutdown with no tourists. I would have thought any luxury goods retailers will jump at the chance of making a sale.

I’d go grey market all day for the day date. The only reason I could ever see going through an AD, actually 2, would be 1) you want to build your account up 2) they offer 0% financing and you prefer to finance the watch

Talking about price increases, I have heard that Audemars Piguet will have another price increase on July 1 (second time this year).

I hope Rolex doesn't follow that.

41 plus SS white face Daytona seems reasonable.

The Rose is listed at 10% off 39k US on Jomashop. I'd try to push for 20% or bundle deal with a SS Daytona as others have suggested.

Just wait it out, since you're not in a rush just start doing some looking around and like mentioned above you can go grey. You're call..

So with your logic I wouldn’t be able to ‘afford’ to remove the stickers if I had paid more? That doesn’t make any sense.

Anyway, that was a one month old picture which I thought shows the watch in a really good light. I had to wait for 2 extra links before i could wear it on my 8.75 inch wrists. While I waited for the 2 links my AD came through for me with a Blue SkyD at $12,750 and a BLRO at $8,250

I ‘de-stickered’ the DD40 when i got the links 2 weeks ago. No point taking the stickers off if you can’t wear it

By the way, in below picture I also couldn’t ‘afford’ to take the stickers of the SkyD as I was waiting for an additional link as well.

The BLRO I was lucky the AD had 3 spare links for me so I could wear it on the spot and therefore could ‘afford’ to remove the stickers immediately.

But it's their game and their rules so I doubt I'll beat them at it.
But nothing to lose by asking...

Right??? But they still seem to be selling anything remotely popular. I never paid attention to DD but it looks like those are still selling pretty briskly.

Yeah, they are telling me I'll move way up the list but no way I'm overpaying to move up some fantasy list... It should be the other way around, sell me a Daytona and then I'll be a loyal customer. And then I'll wake up from my dream...

Yeah, as more time passes the "impulse buy" factor starts to wear off. Their best chance to strike a deal would have been the moment the watch was in my hands. But it's obvious they aren't desperate for the sale.

I just received a text saying that he doesn't think his boss will go for it but he'll go to bat for me. It's starting to feel like I'm at a used car dealership.

I love your combination as well! Beautiful bro!

Beautiful watch! If paying cash recommend $33500. If paying via credit card add 3% with no sales tax on either (Ship to a friend on the mainland). If paying more, insist on a bundle with the ss white Daytona. As you know, Ala moana shopping center and international market place ads receive lots of tourist. That said, given the quarantine, tourist traffic is low. Good luck!!!

33500 is like 25% off, there's just no way you'll be able to do that in the current market

Just stick with it. If no one buys it in the next few days they’ll come back with an offer.

Sell price + Tax = $38K max, if more than this I think go gray will be cheaper.

That won't happen. 15-20% from a Gray trusted seller is attainable.

$33k? LOL no way you will ever get that price from an AD brand new for this piece. Maybe from a cereal box.

I think if your getting from an AD $40k OTD is a fair deal. These aint exactly a cheap watch. Its the ultimate watch!!!

Go get it man.

Do you think holding out for $38 OTD is unrealistic? Their one and only offer has not moved from $41 OTD. Their offer is just about 10% plus tax.

To be totally honest with you a few of my watch club members who recently bought a DD40 YG or RG got a big fat 0% discount and that's with a significant purchase history. They always buy from ADs though.

I think in this hyped up market 10% is not bad at all. If buying from an AD is not a must I would really consider buying gray market from David or someone alike. I got a big 5% discount only on a full RG SkyD recently as well when I inquired which I previously purchased my first one for 25% off. That was a hard pill to swallow. So everything and every model Rolex is experiencing crazy prices.

You will save significant money I think on this piece if you go gray - $36k is doable from grays. With the extra $5k saving you can put it towards another piece if you want another one after this which you may not want any other watches after this one anyway

are you interested in any other SS models besides a daytona? maybe try to bundle it with another model in that case? or are they at least willing to bundle it with a daytona if there's no discount?

if they don't have any interest in bundling with you then i would just go grey and save yourself 15-20%, probably not worth giving them your business

Thanks for your thoughts. There isn’t a SS model that I currently want besides a black Daytona. And I don’t want to get a hot SS just for the sake of getting one. Either way, their reply was they can’t bundle what they don’t have in stock. But buying a DD would take me far up the list. Haha. No thanks.
A fellow TRFer is trying to help me out with his AD. If I can work out a deal I’ll be sure to update.

it's unfortunate that they're playing that game when you're ready to buy a watch like that

hope it works out for you with that other AD, that's a sick day date
