I think if you want to get one Grey in good condition from a dealer of repute with papers, you're looking at a lot more than UK12. And that will go up if it's discontinued next Tuesday.

So you asked this "pleasant SA" to show you a watch you didn't intend to buy, then had her appraise a watch you didn't want to sell, then made a thread to insult and criticize her?

It’s a low ball offer, but in all honesty don’t expect much over mrsp as a part ex from a grey.

Agreed they can be found cheaper also, but at 12k you are looking at older watches from what I’ve seen.

Yeah, I didn't understand the big deal until a week ago and I got one from my AD. Good thing they didn't listen when I told them it wasn't for me.

Very true, it's something special.

I agree with this 100%. However, when one has the black sub already, the green is a nice addition. The black says "let's go swimming, the green says "where's the party?"

Yeah, if that occurs next week, I have the nurse on speed dial.

I have both the LN and the LV 116610 and can honestly say I wouldn't trade the black one for the green. One is iconic, the other is a novelty. However, I have had the LN and my AD trotted out the LV a week ago and I couldn't say no. I honestly tried. I gave every reason. But after having the LV on my wrist for a half hour in the store, I just couldn't say no. It is magical. I can't explain it. I never liked green watches but I have gone from 0 to 4 in the past few months. And I don't regret any of them.

Yeah.
It’s more a general whine about untrained staff in GreyD’s trying to work with unreasonably greedy figures both up and down, wanting top dollar for their stock but want your piece for bottom dollar and a moan about the grey market too..

..that’s if you had interpreted what was between the lines like many of our sensible members.

There was a time when the green sub was very unloved and sat in the display cases unsold. That time was when I purchased one with a 12% discount for around £5,300.

I still have it, don’t wear it much but definitely love it. In fact it was my first modern sub (ceramic).

Get yourself on the list because the grey prices are eye watering.

It’s unique, Rolex rarely if ever did a green dial watch before this. Green bezel in the 50th yes but not this combo.

The black sub may be iconic but they can be had everywhere. This one is special.

I have been on the list since I first saw one in the flesh. Like so many others it did nothing for me in pictures alone.

I'm visualising the phone ringing or the email/text coming in and I'm seeing it on my wrist. I'll make it happen.

In Australia there is an exact description for your actions but I am reluctant to take the chance.

As for your ‘sensible members’ quip I would quit while you are behind.

What is the problem of calling the LV a Hulk. a lot of ADs, and 99% of youtubers and well known book publishers do that. This nicknaming is something unique for Rolex. Better than memorizing a bunch of numbers and letters where 90% of people won't know what you are talking about including a lot of wis. Most ADs call it the green sub, they don't even use the reference no.

Not to confuse you but the first ‘green sub’ could be the 16610LV?

Exactly this

I also don’t think the ‘off the top of her head’ appraisal to buy your two year old, worn 116610ln is a low ball offer in the slightest. They buy watches to sell them.

When bnib examples are a dime a dozen (as they are right now with everybody and their dog trying to catch the gravy train) resellers don’t need to pay top dollar for used watches. I think it sounds like a pretty fair offer all things considered. Not the best, but absolutely not the worst. You need to sell privately if you want a larger slice of the pie.

Kind of happened to me to, my exp II 42mm starts with Y and the rest is numbers. I was at a shop in the diamond district trying on some other watches and was told it was fake due to the year...yeah no.
