I do. That looks like a different blue to me.

The Explorer II, 16570, 216570 has always been in both so I get that but the 14270/214270 has always been black. I believe it will stay that way. At least I hope so. Too much similarity to the 39 mm OP. Why would Rolex have a 39 mm white dial Oyster Perpetual and a white dial 39 mm Rolex Explorer??

I'm with you on that but that's maybe too close to the JC DSSD...

In order not to upset current SMURF owners, if Rolex does decide to use blue in the Sub, I think this is what they'll do - Blue for the bezel only, and Black dial. If the SMURF gets discontinued, you could see blue bezel and dial, but I think you would need one more distinct feature to differentiate it from the SMURF (even more so than the PCL) ... I just don't know what that would be.

That was quite an auction result.

Great find but I was referring to more than a 1 of 1. Like ever made with mass production but I DO get what you were doing, trying to find one. Thank you for finding that.

I still just dont see Rolex doing it. Especially with the recent edition of the 39 mm OP. Granted 1 has a flat bezel and the other rounded. I guess there would also be 2 different shades of white. But again to much similarities. Who knows? Guess we will just have to wait and see

My prediction is that they will release an all platinum Submariner.
I am officially dubbing this the Splatinumariner.

You’re welcome
