I had originally wanted a Date Sub as I’ve always loved dive watches and previously owned a Seamaster. It felt like the natural step, so I put my name down at an AD a few months back. While waiting however, I began to notice the Explorer. Before I knew it, I was thinking about this watch 24/7 looking at every photo and video of it I could find. When I came to the realization that I actually liked it more than the Sub, I contacted my AD early August and told them about my change of heart. 3 weeks later, AD called, and the watch is mine. Couldn’t be happier for my first Rolex.

I did the exact same thing! Was set on getting a Sub as my first Rolex but fell in love with the Explorer and the understated class. Much less common model to see on the wrists of others as well. Currently own a Seamaster also so that satisfies my Swiss dive watch "need".
