Had a think about it, I found that a 5712G and a 5726 on leather are about the same prices used and can be worn on a rubberB strap. What would you guys rather get?
I was also told by the local AD (where there is only one AD here) that any nautilus or aquanaut requires a minimum spend of $300k USD to even be considered in the waiting list. |

Still not a fan of Nautilus on leather or rubberB and would stay the Aquanaut course (or get a Nautilus on bracelet).

This is what 70k gets you. So, yeah, the aqua would be a hard pass at that price.

It was only $58k a few short months ago, $70K is insane!

To answer the OPs question. There are many other watches to be had at the 70k price point. For myself. I could not fathom spending 70+ for a 5167r |

Patek is nice and hyped, but this Vacheron perpetual is just a wiser choice. If... you want complications and... like busy dial. Can't go wrong any way, good luck

And they just released it in WG at W&W. Really is a special watch and a lot of bang for your buck. I could never justify buying grey for a 5167r when this can be had in the same price range. Either way OP, it is ultimately your decision and you have many options at this price point.

If this is one of your grail watches, then I say 2021 new model for 70K is not bad. Almost every year, these retail prices are going up (grey prices following the same trend) and at some point 5167 will also discontinue just like 5711A. Once it discontinues, the prices will naturally rise.
If this was a watch you've been looking at for a while, I think it'll be a good purchase. |
