Ceramic bezel is more durable than the old aluminum bezels for everyday wear, but worse for serious trauma (can crack instead of just dent).

I'm 28 and have been daily wearing my YG blue sub for a couple of years. I've given CPR multiple times with my watch, held down a few psychotically agitated and/or high patients until medications could be adjusted, and done countless minor procedures.

My watch still looks almost brand new except for some hairlines in the PCLs and it survives the full hospital experience. The YG with the ceramic will last a lifetime if you have some minor wrist awareness and don't constantly whack it into oblivion.

Excellent. Another young owner of a full gold sub.

Had mine since I was 34. I love to see younger guys wearing full gold watches. Me at the casino. :)

Not a huge fan of precious metal watches, and not a fan of modern Daytona way over hyped IMHO, so if I had to choose it would be the sub but prefer my watches just SS or TT at a push. As for the ceramic to many downfalls if get scratched or chipped very costly to replace. Some say ceramic is more durable over the aluminium but my own personal tool watch a 16600 SD, has seen more use and often abuse that todays mainly pampered watches will see in ten life time. Yet its its hard life of 20 plus years just one insert replacement cost at that time just £25 and a DIY replacement.

Both are gorgeous but YG Daytona with meteorite is the one to have.

I have owned multiples of both and would go with the Daytona today and if you could get the meteorite dial, all the better.

That Daytona is gorgeous! But, like you, I’m more towards a ceramic bezel, due to being active. Now if I was only going to wear it for special occasions only, then I’d look at it differently. If I were going to wear it frequently, I’d get the sub.

I prefer the gold sub with blue dial. Between the two you are considering, I prefer the daytona.

Do you care about checking time? Daytona is definitely less legible when checking time than Sub.

I would get a back up/beater watch. Gold scratches easier than stainless. For durability.. I would choose the ceramic over gold bezel.. but they both look awesome..lol

I honestly cannot see the point of a Gold/Platinum watch as the metal weight, relative value and rarity are not worth the premium price imho.

I kinda get gold on a classic dress watch (I still wouldn’t but that’s me). A tool watch in precious metal makes zero sense to me. Certainly no yellow gold with that lady’s watch dial.

I'd go Daytona, perhaps with Oysterflex/ceramic bezel or if full gold then RG

Only trouble is, with this option your better half may be wearing it more than you! V popular/wearable for ladies too

If you're ruff on your watches and desire a ceramic bezel then the choice would be to go with a Sub. If the considerable possibility of noticeable scratches doesn't bother you then go for the Daytona.
