We're right in the middle of a very active monsoon.

Lots of rain and a few flash floods.

We lost four people recently, three in a single day, because they were caught in an arroyo.

The monsoon has kept the temperatures down in July and the beginning of August, but June was a real scorcher with temps in the hundreds on several days.

A heavy thunderstorm just blew by, but missed my part of town. At one point you could barely see the mountain for all the rain.

Staring out my yard it’s clear about 75°F and my latest kidney stone hasn’t passed. But I did get one of those put the coffee in and the stuff comes out with the loud sounds and then toss the coffee egg away after. Not bad. But doesn’t make a large. Only good for sm or med. Adding some bourbon helps.

Hagone!

Same in North Florida. Probably drained the pool 5 times this summer.

Yup, three times here and went ahead and did a shock / SC so the pool is set for this weekend's fun festivities.

Pupdate: News is not good for Maury. He’s hanging on, but the doc didn’t sound too optimistic. Tough morning.

Pupdate: Cornell found the right meds for Maury! Temp is normal, sepsis has cleared, as did his lung. The docs are weaning him off the extra oxygen they've been supporting him with via tent, and he may be able to come home later today.

Good gosh, this was a close call for this 1 y/o pup. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

I'm on summer vacation but staying home. My "routine" consists of a dog walk at 6am when it's a breezy 27oC before it hits 33oC. Then breakfast, then a read and perhaps a movie in the afternoon (yesterday I watched Conan the Barbarian first time in a long time.)

Normally, I would be heading to UK to meet up with my parents but that has not been possible last year or this summer. I finally purchased an air ticket for December, who knows what will happen then, got a flex ticket so can change/cancel. Xmas in UK sucks in part to the weather and dark nights but since my folks are in their 70s/80s summer 2022 just seems too far off. I hope all of you missing loved ones and relatives get together soon.

Larry, so glad your pup is pulling through and coming home.

Partly cloudy and 70F in SE Michigan after an overnight shower, on it's way to 80. Going to a local charity car show later...but still caffinating for now on the back deck.

So we're on one of the Florida Keys at our beach home right on the ocean and the battery died in my car (after a wonderful dinner @ the Key Club). To be fair, it was a very old battery. Anywho, so got a new battery from Costco for $180 and installed it within the car this morning.

All good now

Sunny and 84 in central KY. Already made a 70 mile round trip to soccer practice and getting ready to head back to Louisville again. I’m sure I’ll be at Starbucks for a third time today too

Finally got some much needed rain last night and into today. Been 51+ days of dry weather/drought and running havoc on the firefighters battling wildfires in BC and...region.
We were planning a road trip up to the Okanagan and wine country...but may have to cancel due to the situation and warnings..Not good ..!!

Much better here than you are CJ. I have had kidney stones 6 times and ended up in the hospital 4 of the 6 times. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Best of luck, get feeling better. As for the bourbon and Nescafe... whatever works for ya.

Woke up and stubbed my toe going to the toilet. Kidney stone is quiet today. Not angry. Might be the apple I ate by mistake last night. About 75° and the cars are still there. Might have some toast.

Cloudy and cool here at the beach right now, 67 degrees. I’m off this week (for my surgery Thursday) so will head up to the local coffee shop and read the paper.
