I went out and picked up some Weiman stainless steel cleaner spray. No streaks, water marks or finger prints left behind.

Just a bit over a week old.
It had finger prints, water spots and I think some silicone smears left behind from the workmen. I tried cleaning with lots of things, and got it to maybe 80 or 90% but this stuff did the trick. |

We use a stainless steel cleaner with a ceramic coating. Just wipe down the sink every now and again and no water spots and even better, food etc slides right into the drain, no more scrubbing.

You can use an automotive wax on it.
You might even be able to ceramic coat it. I've not tried any of my ceramics on bare stainless, but this would prospectively last months or even years--the ceramic coating on my fun car is about a year and half old and it is still protecting the paint. |

Until this thread, it never occurred to me to try the wipes I use on the fridge and range, on the sink.
Quite a difference.

We have a water softener, our water doesn't spot the shower doors or the sinks.

We have a stainless sink. After 25 years of living it has definitely got some marks. Regular cleaning is all it needs, couldn't care less about water stains or whatever, life's too short.
And yes that means we have had the same kitchen for 25 years, which is probably a horrible thought for most on here... |

My sink is 59 years old. Carved from old bootlegger stills from Capone. Rolled all the way from Chicago, barefoot, no water, no food for 87 days, lost 4 souls during the move. Another 6 during the hammers like a calypso steel drum. I’ll be buried with it and my only pair of shoes and one sock. |

I remember fondly standing in line with my 19 brothers and sisters for days, hoping against hope, for the slight chance of getting to rinse out my tiny soup cup. Those were the days, we didn’t have much, but we were happy. On Christmas we’d all stand around the sink and sing Christmas carols and rejoice in our good fortune. Even today my wife and I fight constantly for the chance to be the one to do the dishes and relive those magical times.
