Leave the box, wear the watch.
Have AD ship it. Leave while cursing them loudly on your cellphone for not having any Rolexes in the shop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

When buying anything expensive, I try to make it my last stop and ideally hit up another shop first. Having another bag available is always handy (both for getting to the car and for sneaking stuff past the wife at home….)

My husband and I went together to the AD to pick up my Rolex. (Hubby bought it for me for our anniversary.) I was wearing a short-sleeved top, and on my wrist on the way into the store I was wearing a Tag Heuer with a diamond dial and my tennis bracelet which is over 5.5 carat total weight. I walked out wearing the Rolex and tennis bracelet. The Tag was in my purse. The Rolex box (and papers, bro!) were in a bag with the AD's logo on it. Lots of people around, and I was a bit nervous, but Hubby and I were very aware of our surroundings at all times.

You don't travel to and from your AD with a personal driver and security? Interesting, who would have thought there are other options.

When I picked up my first new watch from my current dealer in 2017 I walked out wearing it and the box, etc in a green Rolex branded bag. The second a year later was in a green Rolex bag inside a plain brown bag. The third one a year later was shipped to my hotel in New York while on vacation, just the watch in its coffin. Box and paperwork again in a brown bag separately.

Just take the same common sense precautions you would when wearing your watch day to day.

The last time I got a piece from an AD, I brought a bag with me and carried it out with that and the clothes we bought at another place. Looked like just another shopper.

I will go to the AD wearing something casual and not too flashy- remember the less attention the better! Act casual and nobody will ever think you wearing a 30k+ watch. But if you think its going to put a lot of stress on you and you don’t have people to come with you, etc etc. I will just ask the AD to ship it to my house - they do that all the time!!! Shipped Insured of course! You will get the package the next day
