My man.

I might do it anyway.

It’s been brewing for years. It might be time.

But that’s a story for another thread.

I just saw it's $830 million, I guess I'll throw a few dollars just to be in it. Good luck to all here and especially Seth for thinking of our vets and all the pups in need.

No winner... going to over a billion. 20 - $50 million prizes would be more beneficial.

Absolutely agree. This is obscene.

Or even 20 million tops. And spread it around.

Who’s going to win the $800m Mega Millions

Comment.

I need to drive to CA state line and wait in line I guess. $300M isn't worth it but a billion... I tell ya what.

I'll start a microwave engineering company in my home town and do government contracts. People can learn software design tools, hardware trades, make decent money and have something to be proud of. Right now Walmart and meth are the biggest employers.

What’s to stop a guy like Bezos or musk from shutting down a mom n pop retailer and buying every combination possible ( other than time and said establishment running out of tickets)?.

They would need to buy 302 million $2 tickets. The lump sum value is around $622 million, minus federal taxes, is a loss.

Yes and the possibility of multiple winners. I had forgotten that they were two bucks now. I remember when Powerball was a buck. I think.

Maybe 20 (?) years ago a European insurance company wanted to pay for one of every combination. They were told they had to buy them at a retailer, like everyone else.

Interesting. Seems like this day in age with the technology that a person could walk into any states main lottery headquarters and say the exact same thing and write a check. No paper tickets necessary. Thx.

I should go ahead and buy a ticket now.

I'm of the firm opinion that winning something like this will ruin your life. I'm willing to give it a try though.

I have resolved to never again fly commercial if I win.

And I'll be able to buy my SD at grey pricing and not worry about the markup.

And pay off the kid's student loans.

I think I'd like to start a fund to help people pay off some of the obscene medical bills that can occur when you don't have insurance, or adequate insurance. I'd also like to contribute more to local food banks.

Maybe set up a scholarship at my alma mater.

The rest I'll blow on hats.

I would probably go into hiding and then...

Start an elephant habit.
Buy a Hondajet and learn how to fly it.
Make a movie or two.
Help make the lives of seniors better.

Mega Millions winning ticket sold in Illinois in $1.28B jackpot

A ticketholder in Illinois won the $1.28 billion Mega Millions jackpot on Friday night.

The winning numbers were listed as 13, 36, 45, 57, 67 and the gold Mega ball was 14. The Megaplier was 2X.

The winning ticket was sold at the Speedy Café Speedway gas station on East Touhy Avenue in Des Plaines, Illinois.

The $1.28 billion Mega Millions prize is for winners who choose the annuity option, paid annually over 29 years.

Most winners opt for the cash option, which was an estimated $747.2 million.

The jackpot was the nation’s third-largest lottery prize.

The last time someone hit the Mega Millions jackpot was April 15.

There had been 29 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner since then.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302.5 million.

The odds of winning a $1 million prize – when the ticket matches the five white balls – are 1 in 12,607,306.

The Mega Millions website also shows 26 total winners of that prize and six Megaplier winners, receiving a prize of $2 million.

The Mega Millions website says the next jackpot is set at $20 million.

The Mega Millions lottery game is played in 45 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game is coordinated by state lotteries.

Using the most advanced computing system and my own algorithm, I have the one and only winning ticket.
