I cracked & went grey. Takuya had the exact watch I wanted at a reasonable price & still under the Rolex warranty for a few more years, so I decided to pull the trigger. I should have it today before noon. Just checked fed ex tracking & it's on the truck for delivery.

I'll post pics this evening when I get home.

Now, the question is what should I do with that eternal AD waitlist I'm on? Should I say nothing, & if by some miracle I get the call decline the watch? Maybe that would prevent me from getting something else in the future. Should I go by & switch my selection to another watch I like but probably wont get from them either, lol. Or should I just stay on the list & if I get the call purchase the watch & sell the one I just bought? No sense in having two exact watches....Oh the dilemma's #firstworldproblems

Thanh Takuya is outstanding. Mazels!!

Let the AD know you already acquired it and thank them (stay positive)... and if you'd like kindly ask them for what model you want next.
Agree. It is not complicated.

Congrats on the watch, OP!

I would just stay on the list and decline the watch when and if it comes in. Being on the list and showing interest in a model is not a contract to buy. You’ll be fine. It’s not like the watch is coming in just for you. They will call all the other people on the list, first, and maybe get to you. Don’t sweat it.
Hmm I disagree with that I think it’s bad from to particularly ask for something and say you don’t want it when it arrives - kinda feel as though it’s time wasting. I would actually tell the AD that I’ve bought it because I didn’t want to wait any longer as I have done with actually nearly all my watches lol. No issues.

Yeah, I agree. It'd be like "You asked & asked for it, & now that we have it you don't want it!!"

I'll swing by next week & just change my selection to another DJ 41, but this one rose gold/SS with the chocolate dial on oyster.

I really like that one too.

If the AD calls tell them the truth. You wanted the watch so much and it took so long, through no fault of the AD, that you paid the extra premium and purchased it from a reseller. You would have much rather given the money to the AD, but now that you have the DJ, if they could put you down for your next Rolex as you would much rather go direct if possible.

Congrats, looks really nice. Tell the AD the truth and ask for whatever you want next. Perhaps they will be a bit more responsive knowing that you will not wait forever.

Congrats!

Watch looks great on you. And I'll 2nd your advice about doing deals with Takuya, have done several with him and he's great to deal with, fair pricing and 100% follow-through on his commitments. Enjoy the new timepiece!

I do like the configuration on this watch. Something about the jubilee and fluted bezel. Congratulations.
